Is that cookie consent dialog bug for iPad/mac (safari) users escalated to the dev team?

@rene The "too big" bug is fixed on one site that I checked, if that's the bug you refer to.

8:13 AM
@Rob no, the bug where Safari doesn't store the cookies, causing the pop-up the re-appear on each new page you visit

I believe that [this is the original](https://meta.stackexchange.com/q/359691/282094) that yours (and others linked to that) are a duplicate of; unfortunately the Banner links to the question, and not the particular answer, where it's the original Announcement and has too many answers for me to search through ATM to find the particular Bug Feedback offered to the question. --- That would be a good Feature Request, to be able to retain the exact answer rather than point at the question
particularly when many of the answers don't apply to the duplicate question that entered the Review Queue.
Back in an hour or two.

It was a day later, but reported in the correct place (on the Announcement, as a Bug); and it's not been replied to as status completed.

Yeah, I've reopened and bountied that cross-validated question as well. And those answers are indeed similar/related/identical. I think it is best to have a bug report on it, not buried as an answer on the annoucement post.
Given it didn't get feedback.
And that it affects a whole type of devices (Apple in this case)
I mean that original you linked to could have been a one-of with only a local setting / tweak causing the problem. Having a bug where all iPad users are impacted is in a different ballpark
specially because that will impact visitors as well.

Lol, cookies...

@bmike - You might want to status-review the meta post on your side
We'll look at our end, and try to pick one to do likewise

@JourneymanGeek I was told a while back to never, ever touch those tags. I’ll let the employees manage them until they change their direction. I thought of it, but stopped at linking

@bmike that's what they are meant for - so whoever told you not to touch those tags is.... confused
and the question on your site is actually a better indication of an issue, a good chunk of ours are folks with fairly restrictive, non standard security settings, which makes it harder

But that was a while back. It was a developer - and yes, I was pretty confused. Why wouldn’t they just watch the tags and clean it up like the rest of the idiom here. Make a change if you can and if it seems an improvement.

@bmike the policy changed at some point ._.
If a developer has an issue, point them to me and... I'll have words with them.

Ty. Will do
We have teams now for better interaction between the “teams”

A bit confused why you wouldn't status-review one of the bug reports

Which one? :D
But yeah I status-reviewed one of them

Q: How do I dismiss the new cookie popup that appears on the site?

jamesqfLately I've been seeing this cookie popup that blocks a lot of the screen. When I try to do the "manage cookies" thing, all it shows me are several categories, with a green oval containing a black circle to the right of each. Clicking on that oval makes it disappear. Clicking on the same spot ...

seems to do a better job of clarifying the actual problem methinks

Me thinks not, but you're the mod here ;)
If it gets solved, I'm fine with it

@rene Apple Pop Tarts, 😋

3:14 PM
@Rob Meh, no stroopwafel ;)

Rob

@rene Stroopwafles are microwave, pop tarts are toaster; thus they pop up (like the cookie pop-up). --- Apple Cinnamon was replaced by Crisp Apple, but Pop Tarts™ have so many more flavors, including caramel.

Everyone knows that the best flavor for waffles comes by liberally pouring Rogers Golden Syrup on them, where you are you can probably only get Tate & Lyle Golden Syrup, the 2nd best flavor is AJ
(Pearl Millings, now), followed distantly by mere Maple Syrup. Caramel, eh.

Yes, we know all that. :D
