Hint 4: Which of the following is the sum of an infinite geometric sequence whose terms come from the set {1, 1/10, 1/100, ...}: 1/9, 1/99, 1/909, 1/999
There is a simple proof using ... hint: something that many people use every day without knowing, and rarely knowingly. And it isn't a physical object.
@rene not the ordinary off topic question, but doesn't look like the OP is affiliated with any of the sites mentioned in the post, so don't think it's really spam.
@QueenieGoldstein IQ tests have one purpose: to get people to pay money. It's an industry.

It costs money to prepare for the test, it cost money to take the test, etc.
IQ tests are lateral thinking offline puzzle competitions where if you score high enough, you earn the opportunity to pay even more annually for bragging rights.
@QueenieGoldstein I was not asking the room in general, just reacting to what John said. So no, it is not about you but thanks for sharing your thoughts about that topic.

The current design of all stack-exchange sites allow the users to Watch and Ignore tags. The purpose of this feature has been described in the following post:
What do “watched tags” and “ignored tags” do?
Stack Exchange permits the user to watch multiple tags at once (Upper lim...
@ShadowWizardWearingMask They include tests if not they are solely for it
I said that because Deutschland has frei education probably any kind of. I looked for a few UG universities there..the only thing is that I have to be fluent in german but I have lost practice while preparing for UG universities 😂😂
@QueenieGoldstein well here we don't pay for the school directly, just for the "extra" stuff. This includes books, travels, and whatsnot... so bottom line, paying as much as the school wants, and more. But still, tests aren't directly included in the payment. ;)
I don't know about Israel, but in my country, all school charges a primary fee called "tuition fees". And other categories of fees include "transpost", "Lab fees"and rest extras
There is something for low grades, that let the child stay in school few hours after classes end, which cost monthly fee, but they don't learn during this time. Kind of "mini day-care".
@QueenieGoldstein not that I know of... there are special classes for good students, but there's no official guidance for that, it's per-school.
That said.... I don't know about high grades, so maybe they do something there. @Mithical might remember better than me, it's still very fresh for them. ;)
I have read about a former moderator monica after which many moderators left (I don't know if I should bring this up, please ignore if not appropriate)
The company had the direct relation to remove moderation capabilities
The Monica drama consists of two main events: 1) Removing her moderator status on all sites (there were four, I think) without any notice to her, and without even reaching out to her properly before doing it, and 2) defaming and shaming her in public which is x1000 times worse, and that's what led to the real explosion.
@QueenieGoldstein not so terrible and likely not so rare, but yeah... they're not associated officially with the company more than you or me. They just sign bunch on online documents/agreements but nothing reach their actual identity in real life, as far as I can tell.
There's also a chance I'm the one who is terribly wrong here, was never a mod on SE myself so all of this is my personal outside knowledge, @JourneymanGeek for example can tell for sure.
@JourneymanGeek I've had 2 lots of swag (moderator and 100K), I have 1 SU hat, 1 SU T-shirt, 1 SO T-shirt, 1 SU beer mug, 1 SU coffee cup (alas now broken it blew over in a gust of wind and smashed beyond repair) and load of stickers (which I've no real use for)). I'm wearing the SU T shirt today, and I wore the hat earlier today whilst shopping (it is raining here).
That particular cash was spent decades ago, I lost the beer stein while moving, and now I have a far far smaller pile of cash that I can grab some of on the way out - the beer stein was certainly better, it could hold two levels of rolls.
@ShadowWizardWearingMask I guess it's a unique idea, I can't find an image of a beer stein or glass stuffed with cash; this is the closest thing:
Only single decker, and much smaller diameter. :(
Even George Washington seems unhappy, but I never put bills that small in my stein.
@Mithical so he was 14 when appointed? Also, can't figure why use Gibberish in the profile, better just leave it blank, but not my business and not a site I follow, so meh. :)
> The short story asserts the premise that, while currently trapped, Cthulhu will eventually return. His worshippers chant "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn" ("In his house at R'lyeh, dead Cthulhu waits dreaming.").
Argh, too slow!
Well, OK. I mean, it could be gibberish, but that depends on your definition of gibberish :)
Spammers can recreate their accounts after being nuked for being a spammer, but having their account destroyed on those grounds carries an implicit suspension along with it. Some of the SO mods like to suspend for a year, then destroy, which will keep them suspended if they recreate their account. The new suspension that comes from being destroyed in this way is overridden by the year-long suspension they had been given just before.
