Morning!

Morning!

How's life?

Easy going. Starting from home, meeting later on. Yours?

Just arrived at work. Train was tooo full, previous train didn't go. Managed to crochet until I had no more elbow room :P
No meetings today! Yay!

If a train is out I often return home and take the car ...
I'm considering if I should take the train this afternoon. I need to go to Naarden-bussum but the office is a 45 minute hike or a local bus.
Given the weather, I fancy the hike part but the forecast for the evening makes me a bit uneasy

6:35 AM
@rene Yeah, some things are predicting actual tornado's... That would be kinda cool to see...
But isn't it going to be like almost 30 degrees? Hikes sound hot...

well, yeah. You either get wet from the rain or the sweat

@rene I prefer rain. Stinks a lot less :P

I smell awesome!

If you don't sweat, yeah... ever smelled a compost heap? :P

It ... has an interesting fragrance

7:23 AM
@Tinkeringbell thank god for odor cancelling deodorant

eh. Pretty sure I know who this user is. Question is, is he allowed to do that?
His only attribution so far was positive, but still.... not sure if I should flag or not.
waffles! I was correct. Got a proof.

@ShadowTheCurlyBracedWizard Allowed to do what?

@JNat tricky one here. I leave this to you to dig into it and act as you think is right. (Hint: this is not Tim.)
@forest bypass suspension by creating and using new account.
Nobody is above the law, that's my view, I've flagged the post.

oh

@JNat and in the meantime, easier request... cross site spammer here. Thanks! :)
@forest yeah
oh indeed.

8:17 AM
@Magisch I wish I could use that more often... My skin doesn't really like it :(

@Tinkeringbell sadness
I'm in an office with several really scent sensitive coworkers
especially the order processing folk will smell anything

@Magisch Yeah. Kinda :P I'm not a really smelly person, though I think it has gotten a bit worse since mom got her new recipe book and is now using garlic for dinners every other day...
I haven't really gotten any complaints either so I guess I'm fine.

Q: How to keep smelling fresh without perfume

NofelI have a unknown allergy to perfumes. My breathing gets blocked from my nose up if someone near me wears perfume. I am okay with mild to low perfume. But sometimes I feel I am not that fresh, and may smell. There are people who look fresh all day long, and I wonder how? For me if I wear the sam...

;)

@ShadowTheCurlyBracedWizard Cold showers everyday, and making sure you wear clean clothes every other day. Also, wash those clothes hot.

@Tinkeringbell post new answer, never too late.... :D

@ShadowTheCurlyBracedWizard Meh. I don't really have a perfume allergy like that person describes... my skin just itches horribly if I eat too much chocolate, shower too hot or use strongly perfumed soap (or too much soapy stuff in general... We think we narrowed the laundry detergent issues down to non-ionic surfactants)

9:03 AM
@Tinkeringbell @Bart quick poll / sanity check: Do one of you have a good Dutch word for Two Factor Authentication? I need this on a general public, non-IT audience. Both authenticatie and verificatie already feel as to complex to use. Verificatie in twee stappen seems the closest I find, still ... thoughts?

@rene Tweestapsverificatie?

why dutch at all? Go with "2FA"

Oh wait. I should read the entire message before replying XD
Perhaps even twee-staps log-in :P
'dubbele beveiliging'
Or just drop the technical term then immediately explain it in less complicated words.

@Magisch that is already dismissed. The Germans are pretty good at translating everything, what is a German wording you would use?
@Tinkeringbell that certainly is an option
@Tinkeringbell I like that

@rene I think the technical Dutch words is the tweestapsverificatie, and then you can drop the dubbele beveiliging as an explanation ;)

9:07 AM
@rene "Zweifaktorauthentifizierung" "2 Schritt Login" "2 Schritt Auth"

Ok, thanks!

9:25 AM
@Tinkeringbell ouch

Sometimes cleaning just seems like such a waste of time...

One-click cleaner

well, three clicks and four keyboard presses for me

2:43 PM
I did ask if we should just put it in it's own room ...
No one liked the idea

it has its own room . a couple of them. the Tavern is for the Tavern eyes

Well, to be exact, for MSE chat server...

@Tinkeringbell nah, cleaning my car is much bigger waste of time. ;)
It gets dirty less than a day afterwards. Always.

 The Fire Department

Where smoke detectors keep us on our heels all day. No chit-ch...

@JourneymanGeek maybe some official poll is in order? Give it a full week, then if more people want the smoke to be gone from Tavern, so be it.

We had 9 stars on the "smokey stays" comment and 2 on the "smokey's not here any more" comment.
wow, that's old...

@NoDistractionWizard boo 3 years passed
Things have changed... that room @Mith linked to was created, etc. :)
Personally I'll vote for Smokey to stay, but...

How can I prevent wetsuit from being wet?

3:20 PM
don't use it

@JohnDvorak Still doesn't prevent it getting wet
@ShadowTheCurlyBracedWizard cleaning in general is a waste of time :P

and keep it indoors at all times

@JohnDvorak Still doesn't prevent it from getting wet XD

and out of reach of children and dogs
and fix your gdd*n roof

Still doesn't prevent it from getting wet
@JohnDvorak roof isn't mine, I'm not fixing it.

3:25 PM
Yours is a strange problem to ... be OK with having.

Hahaha the roof doesn't need fixing, but I still live with my parents so even if it needed fixing it would be their home, their problem

3:46 PM
@ShadowTheCurlyBracedWizard gone
@SonictheBracketedHedgehog gone
@JourneymanGeek gone
@ShadowTheCurlyBracedWizard gone

@Tinkeringbell @Journeyman to be fair, it seems to be mostly because we're doing it for not a very established reason. If left alone, it's said to 'alienate' new users. The few that do come by don't seem alienated or not alienated either way.

@NoDistractionWizard gone

@ShadowTheCurlyBracedWizard what's the issue here?

@JNat Hint: Tim
I have no idea

:|
never mind, I see the timeline now

4:01 PM
In response to what's gearing up to be a very hot summer in germany, I bought a portable AC unit for @ home

4:18 PM
@Magisch utterly confused why you would need an AC unit if you already have 230 AC voltage coming from the wall-outlet .... but I see where I went wrong ...

@rene air conditioning
my apartment is hard to cool down

check

Hmmm... Marvel or air conditioning?

Marvel

Hair conditioning

4:33 PM
Heir conditioning

That's starting to sound a bit illegal.

5:27 PM
@Mithrandir My little brother is also a bit fluent in English, and one of his classmates that happened to watch the Thor movies asked him "I get why the movie's all cool and stuff, but why did Loki keep saying 'air to the throne'? That sounds like farting"

ahahaha

6:21 PM
@Marshmallow Making a crochet pattern now... my parrot has hear.

7:13 PM
Lightning ...

Not here..
Remind me, I promised mom to open some windows... I almost forgot!

Go open some windows then

@rene Did :)

Mom will be pleased ;)

Gaaah. Someone ruined the fun of science :(

@rene So... lightning? How bad?

@Tinkeringbell meh, mainly rain and wind, for 10 minutes or so. It is already getting brighter

Boring... Zeeland had an almost tornado.

"almost"

Q: Both me and the employer are interested in my taking a job, but paperwork has an arbitration agreement; how can I negotiate to remove it?

gparyani I recently interviewed at a fairly large company for a position I was interested in. The recruiter said that I "far and away bested" the other candidates, and that they were really interested in taking me on. However, as I was looking through the hiring paperwork, I noticed an arbitration agr...

@SonictheBracketedHedgehog the HTML comment at the top of that has a linebreak after it, which makes the rest of the post drop down a line

so how come I noticed

Questions asked on per-site metas by <5 rep users using the "ask about own post" form also contain such a comment and line break

okay

10:41 PM
@JNat cheers :)
And thanks for nuking all the spammers... ;)
