@ShadowThePrincessWizard Yeah, sorry.
Not important ;)

Ping stayed lol
Now I'm curious. :(
Feature request: let the one pinged see the message, even if deleted. ;)

I was wondering since you cleaned up your comment, if you also cast/removed a close vote on that question about askers? :)

@Tinkeringbell yup

I was seeing 6 in my timeline, instead of 5... and your name wasn't on the final list of close voters while you did comment :)

1:01 PM
Cast "unclear what you ask" or whatever it's called now.
oh wait

Needs more clarity, I think.

No, it was "needs more focus", aka "too broad"
Anyway, retracted after my edit.
Wait.... what question? There were several today...

Rob
The OP didn't like your edit. The title is reverted, which is what I was saying to do.

Requires clarity or focus.... Story of my life

1:04 PM
I agree with @Rob, the title change was too radical, making it into a different, more broad, question. @Tink
!!/coffee Vog

@ShadowThePrincessWizard brews a cup of Espresso for @Vog

@Rob And I'm not arguing mine was that much better... just that it seemed you were arguing any edits I did to the body weren't good either, while I do think those marginally help.

@PM2Ring And yet there are still top of google results that claim that alzheimers primary cause is aluminum buildup in the brain blocking homeostasis

@ShadowThePrincessWizard Sure.

not that I know enough about medicine to judge the accuracy of that but it seems to be false

1:08 PM
Now... different question: Would anyone think 'asking' someone to 'stop creating problems where there are none' is usually interpreted as 'politely asking'?

no

I have a feeling it carries an undertone and implications that are often not appreciated or interpreted as 'politely asking'.
But I'd like to be sure :)

@Magisch I always was a fan of Hidrofugal (that's spam maybe)

@Tinkeringbell the people who create problems may not

that is an accusation of bad faith or at best incompetence made in an indirect way

1:09 PM
@JourneymanGeek In this case, that'd be me... apparently.

@πάνταῥεῖ Thats exactly the one I use!

@Magisch hm, well that is enough to make me stop assuming aluminum bottles are better. It's hard to get really definitive information about these things though, the web is too full of bad science to use it as any more than a guideline.

Rob
Also, there's an answer well received by the community, and accepted. With the "title revert" I can't close it as a dupe. --- As to your last ping, the OP doesn't agree, nor does Sha.

it's cheap and lasts long and works like a charm with no natural scent

On the other hand, are there really no problems?

1:10 PM
@Magisch There's even no need if you get older :-P

@Rob Hmm? The OP left what I did to to the body... not to the title.
I was asking about the body.

@Gimby If that is indeed the case we're screwed anyways aluminum sulphate is a legal food additive and is used to treat water in most places.

@Tinkeringbell wait, what? I was expecting resistance... battle... beak attack...
:D

@ShadowThePrincessWizard I'm not so mean as to not admit defeat...

@ShadowThePrincessWizard not the eyes?

1:11 PM
:)
@JourneymanGeek pecking eyes? Nah, it'll get her wet, not good.
Parrots don't like getting wet, I know from sister's parrot.

Rob
You said: "How does the edit look?", and I used a reply to answer specifically that.

@Magisch also I would guess not very soluble in water

@πάνταῥεῖ Hidro fu gal... whoa. Sounds interesting. :P

@Rob Oh, true. But after you mentioned the title, I did admit it might not be best and asked about the body only ;)

@ShadowThePrincessWizard It's a really good deodorant, and I've been using it over years.

1:14 PM
@πάνταῥεῖ foo bar is better
fu gal is so 1990

Rob
and I explained that "they wrote stuff ... " and you simply added it in.

@JourneymanGeek It's used to coagulate smaller particulate contaminants in water treatment

Brb coffee break

read that as coffee beak
:D

e.g you put it in water, it coagulates other contaminants and can be removed on the bottom, but some remains. In foods it is used as a firming agent

Rob
1:15 PM
Good plan. ☕
🚬 too.

@πάνταῥεῖ although not adviseable in the heat of summer and not if you apply it too broadly
the mechanism by which is works is by blocking you from sweating from the applied area

Most non spray deodorants I used left nasty stripes on my clothes. :(

Rob
So does duct tape.

@Rob on arm pits? Awesome idea!

@Magisch I am still concerned about the Brezen, and how these are prepared.

1:17 PM
@Magisch Fair point. Just because that Georgia study was flawed doesn't mean that there definitely is no link between aluminium and Alzheimer's: the link may be a lot more subtle than first thought. OTOH, a lot of people have been looking very hard for such a link, essentially making it their life's work. And still we don't have a definitive answer either way. Some of those people are just going to keep looking...

I wouldn't suggest duct tape as a deodorant
Hair remover maybe

@Magisch Ever worked well for me.

Rob
Either, armpits for sweating or clothing to leave nasty stripes. It's good for many uses.

@JourneymanGeek doubt it prevents sweating?? The hair doesn't sweat....

@PM2Ring I mean finding out what exactly causes alzheimers is a pretty worthwhile cause if you're so inclined

1:18 PM
@JourneymanGeek Shaved axles help a lot.

considering what that disease does

Anyway, that's cute!
Dog and parrot by the fireplace, another parrot overlooking.

@Magisch Certainly! One of my grandfathers got Alzheimer's. And one of my nieces did research on possible genetic markers for susceptibility to Alzheimer's for her master's degree.
@ShadowThePrincessWizard Maybe some parrots don't like getting wet. When I lived up north we used to get lots of smaller parrots (2 species of lorikeet) bathing themselves in our bird bath. The larger parrots didn't use it through.

Rob
Mumble: Ihj hjas jkk me!

@PM2Ring hmm... well her parrot is not small but also not big

Rob
1:25 PM

@ShadowThePrincessWizard is it far away?

Rob
It works for me!

@motosubatsu what is far away?

Rob
Bring what closer.

@Rob now I understand what happened to Shog..... :D

1:28 PM
..... returning to the site, greeted by what seems to be the proof that ancient Egypt already had duct tape

Rob
You don't want to wrap too tightly.

@ShadowThePrincessWizard I suppose the air temperature would be important too. The bird bath didn't get as much use over winter. But on some summer days I'd have to refill it 2 or 3 times a day. Rainbow lorikeets like to splash the water around. :)

Rob
@PM2Ring Must be nice to have lorikeets and parrots in your backyard. Some of us have crows, they can be dangerous!

@ShadowThePrincessWizard sorry.. attempt at a humorous Father Ted reference

Rob

1:34 PM
@Rob I'm convinced crows have some sort of hive mind going on

@Rob he looks like he is offering the knife though. "Here, you dropped this".

or they exchange information because word has gotten round in the farm crow community that I occasionally feed them bread, so now they even come up to me when I do

Rob
Actually, the Police say that the knife was used in a murder.
and not of crows.

@Rob but this room does have a pandemonium of parrots

Pandemonium of Parrots. wordy, but still catchy. PoP, cool abbreviation too.

1:42 PM
@motosubatsu Two would establish a "pandemonium " ??

Rob
It gets much worse!

Rob

@motosubatsu :)

@Rob Crows on steroids :D

Rob
1:47 PM
It's thought to be the same crow as the one whom had the knife earlier.

@Rob It was! But apart from the various parrot species, we also got crows, magpies, butcherbirds, and of course kookaburras.

Rob
But that one shops at Metrotown Mall, takes the subway to get there.
Also, don't shoot video in portrait mode, use landscape; it's more cinematic that way.

2:04 PM
@Rob the collection word for crows gets a whole different meaning with a chainsaw in the picture

I think that's a raven.

Rob
It's a winner, with 81% of the vote - over 300,000 people polled, it beat Michael J. Fox!

Here are the lyrics of an old Scottish song about a couple of crows. rampantscotland.com/songs/blsongs_corbies.htm Originally, the song was English, the Scottish version is a little more "gritty". Here's a great version by singer & harpist Maeve Gilchrist, and her trio. Maeve was born in Scotland, although her mother is Irish.

Writing welcoming comments is blocked by bluefeeted SE staff. I need a bit more time to formulate properly ... ;) ... I'll keep it short next time ....

@rene Have you tried using emoji?

I ... did not ... is that a failure?

@rene What happened?

the question was deleted

@rene hm?

2:28 PM
@rene Ohhh... not too bad :P

Nothing bad happened except some electrical signals that went into the void

@rene Taryn nuked the question?

@rene cool

@πάνταῥεῖ I'm not here to point out specific users. You don't need to spell it out

@rene "bluefeeted" spells it out enough already ;-)

2:30 PM
Thought so
I was trying to guide the new user about our awesome tag wikis, only to find out that sql had just an excerpt ...
I might as well FR this but then for posts ...

Well, if it was tagged , no surprise that it was Taryn who took care of it

2:49 PM
and rightfully so

I added a tag wiki for SQL: meta.stackexchange.com/tags/sql/info. Anyone that want to proofread? If you don't have 20K I'm happy to take edit suggestions, otherwise you can make the edit yourself.

the tag is shouting at me

It .. is supposed to do that ...
I didn't touch the excerpt but if you rather have that moved or lower-cased, let me know, seriously

5:45 PM
Even without hats, plenty of fun about them.

6:25 PM
The "This is fine" hat is... interesting when you accidentally remove the whites of its eyes

lol

Some of the images in the 2019 hat list aren't transparent. This was me trying to manually remove it

Q: What progress has been made so far in implementing gender diversity in SE's foreign language sites?

aparente001When the new CoC was unveiled, foreign language sites were given an indefinite extension for implementation. We could wait for a protocol to be handed down from above ... or we could start collaborating and exploring together how to treat gender diversity concepts in languages where gender ambig...

8:56 PM
@πάνταῥεῖ The solution is obvious: require everyone to speak the official SE-approved dialect of English.
