@TravisJ The problem is: I don't know the right way of doing things, or I'd be advocating for that. I want people to show research effort, so we don't turn into (or "stay") a "do my homework" site (and I don't feel too comfortable answering a requirement dump, homework or not), but including research often eliminates the future value of a question (this is especially relevant to algorithm questions, but applies to other questions too).
@AwesomePoodles SE has an unofficial policy of removing the moderator status of inactive moderators, so maybe it's time to remove Nathan's status and reassign it to Brock?
@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog Well then thanks again. Sorry that I didn't make it clear that I use a different handle on MSE.
:7185392 I didn't think the chat would go anywhere; and most people who care already seem to know. Sorry for my wrong assumption. And I was careful not to overly promote myself under either name.
@rene Hah, shows what you know, I don't get paid for my graveyard shifts :P
@Dukeling Yeah, that is the hard part. Allowing for the simple design aspect opens the site up to homework dump, requirement dump, job shop, type of situations. Whereas, requiring some design is where we are now, mostly focused on refactoring. I often do not feel like I am solving problems when answering questions anymore. I am simply just explaining an issue with what went wrong. In some ways, this is solving a problem, but it's not really the same when there is already 90% of a solution.
