As a stackoverflow user mainly, by posting here on meta and being heavily downvoted on submission, I discovered how byzantine the rules of an unfamiliar stackexchange site not to speak of the first stackexchange site.

Moreover, despite the fact that it is a place were the stackoverflow company (I beleive it is the name now) staff interact frequently with the user, it is not a way to have interaction with the staff. moreover the staff is acting unprofessionaly in my opinion. I mean: " Oh boy, unsubstantiated conspiracy theories. This particular question show that in my opinion, the only interest of stackoverflow is only revenues and the community is very little care.

Hey @XavierCombelle :) But that's the idea of Meta sites, to discuss stuff. So just like you are entitled to voice your opinion, others should also be able to speak theirs and respond. And yes, you have one controversial opinion, and hence the reaction. But it wasn't rude IMO

@AlonEitan So you can only discuss on uncontroversial topics, obviously there is no long discussion on this site. Moreover, it is the first time that I heard that microsoft attitude is at least not fair is a controversial topic. Same about the fact that advertising is a problem. It is the first time I encountered that it is not taken as truth. It might be that I am in my bubble, but in my opinion it is more likely that advertisers and microsoft fan who are in their bubble.

Actually, it is less a information bubble but an ivory tower protecting the strongest

@AlonEitan Concerning that the fact my two question was massively downvoted, I don't feel really as particularly rude, as the rules are byzantine and unknown except the initiated. What I want to point is that stackexchange networks has very byzantine rules. (to augment the problem they are different form one site to another, for example an affirmative title is not a downvote reason on stackoverflow but looks like the first check mark on meta

moreover, from my experience, stackoverflow users are more likely to let comment while downvoting on how to improve the question than meta users. In both question massively down voted questions I had to beg until the point a single person opinion. And actually after modifying the answer they were no vote modifications.

@XavierCombelle But changing the content of a question is not the same as changing opinion, and even an unexplained downvote can easily be interpreted simply as disagreement. I obviously not going to speak on behalf of Oded, but you can ping him and discuss this issue with him. I'm pretty sure he wasn't trying to offend you
