Wait a sec... You already know about the 100K swag - we emailed you months ago! Back in April! April 1st! oh... Yeah, so, should probably tell you, that wasn't fake. — Shog9 ♦ 4 mins ago

lol
I was under the impression swag thresholds for SO were higher
not that I am ever likely to hit 100k on SO

I seriously need to write more answers.
Even at 32k.

12:53 AM
@bwDraco less find answers, and more "find questions that interest you"
With meta its "Find questions that matter to you"

Yeah.
I should actively search the tag pages.

I mean, if its just about reputation, you can do a Harry

.... does anyone get the meaning of the codes at the end of this post?
25
A: What does this code getQueryStringParameter do?

Danny '365CSI' EngelmanIt extracts one named parameter from the QueryString (URL) http://domainname.com/page.aspx?parameter1=xxx&parameter2=yyy var value=getQueryStringParameter('parameter1'); It is used in many examples and most of the time not necessary (and bloats your code) because SharePoint has multiple imple...

> Note: QS['parameter'] is the same as QS.parameter

--> J1 J5 iJS iDOC <--
is this user adopting some alternate post tagging system for sake of searching? Could actually be an interesting idea, but it does add some noise.

QS is an object.
like
QS = {
 'parameter1' : 'value',
 ......
}
So QS['parameter1] == QS.parameter1

@redhand nope, I mean the tag like codes at the end of the answer
the line
> J1 J5 iJS iDOC
some are actual links to custom searches on the site.
seems he is trying to provide some sort of "related links" in the answer

yes. He may want to OP to search moar related questions

or probably some kind of versioning? Like, "this answer applies to J1, J5, iJS, and iDOC"

Shall we close a question as no repro if the OP is not responding in comments instead keep comment I tried it's not working bro ?

7:38 AM
@Elias that was an idea... but in that case what even is iJs? I can't think of anything matching that acronym, both in a general web development context or in a SharePoint specific one.

all of the answers in the search results are made by the same person.
Looks like a code to get to his answers
like you can add ABC DEF at the end of one answer
Then DEF GHI at the end of other answer and DEF should link to the search term
so those who read click that link will be navigated to his other answers and thereby he can get more upvotes

We're on dry season though... please rain more.

Happy New Year!!! @Oded @AlonEitan

Tomorrow (in my timezone) is Islamic New Year too...

@Elias really???? whoa, didn't know they're in same time.
New Jewish year starts in about four hours.
(year 5778)

12:31 PM
Tomorrow is also 4 1/2 hours left for 1439 AH.
I don't observe it though :)

So anyway, Happy New Year! @Elias @Fawad @M.A.R.
@Elias 1439? You start to count since Muhammad was born?

@ShaWizDowArd I think so? I'm not a Muslim ._.

@Elias ohh... thought you are. So how you know about the Islamic New Year?

It's a national holiday in my country

14% muslims, nice

12:37 PM
@ShaWizDowArd שנה טובה ומתוקה

@Oded שנת שלום ואחווה
buh... so sticky. :D

@ShaWizDowArd sometimes it happens at around the same time. The Muslim and Jewish calendars are both lunar calendars, but the Muslim one doesn't have any corrections for the solar cycle (Jewish one has leap years - the extra Adar). This means that the different Muslim holy days move around the seasons (including the harvest festivals - they can happen in spring, but usually, not).

@ShaWizDowArd where?
@Oded Yeah. Sometimes there's a festival in Jalali calendar that happens to be the same day as a supersad day in Hijri calendar, so we end up laughing while shedding tears
@ShaWizDowArd We usually keep track of the Jalali new year, but not the Hijri new year, because well, there's nothing special about the Hijri new year
No celebrations, no festivals, no nothing

12:54 PM
Probably less than 10 percent of Iranians noticed the new year.
I wasn't gonna but you told me

... wait ... c# allows for spaces inbetween the object and member when accessing that member?
Yeah, seems like it. Never knew that ...

1:13 PM
even JS allows it
var a = {
 b : 'c'
}
a . b; // c

JS allows anything, except that it doesn't do what you think it does. At least that's my limited experience with JS :D

it'll trim the space

Yeah, just surprised me.

@Bart actually JS is the future. Angular, React and Vue in web dev, Ionic, React native in mobile app, Node in Server side and Electron for desktop app

Get out!

1:17 PM
NO

I will have none of that JS rubbish.

the future of C#, .NET, Java, C, C++ etc will end within 10 years
@Bart I have industry experience in Angular
will start a project on Ionic near future

If I had a dime for every time someone predicted the end of any of those languages you mentioned, I would have a fortune by now.

Relax, the world ends sooner though

@Elias NASA predicted it
actually the news is in malayalam. Translate it

Whitespace between object and property name helps when you have a chain of methods applied: obj.method(foo).another(bar).onemore(baz)... can be multiline and indented to align.

@Bart it allows for fluent interfaces, no?

@rene yup. I'm not a big fan of those. But then again, they don't necessarily apply to our scenarios anyway.
In any case, I was just surprised to see something along the lines of entity .entityID in our code without complaints.

A typical example from what I deal with (Google Apps Script):

user315433
 chart = chart.modify()
     .addRange(range)
     .setOption('title', 'Updated!')
     .setOption('animation.duration', 500)
     .setPosition(2,2,0,0)
     .build();

Guys, it's time to talk about sunsetting the new topbar.
2

user315433
I wish they left topbar alone and just made Developer Jobs button float in the middle of the page, changing colors or whatnot, if it didn't get enough attention.

user315433
Then the rest of the network wouldn't have to have their topbar crammed to the right for no reason.

I dislike the review changes in the new topbar
doesn't even show the numbers anymore
y u remove info from me

4:31 PM
Because designers. Frustrated designers who want one design to satisfy every site on the network for every language it supports.
That's why we can't have text-accompanied icons in the topbar... because "review' is "DJKLASDJKASDFDJASKFJ DKFJDJFIQE" in Klingon, or something... and that would break the layout.
