Is there an antonym of "defend" that's less aggressive than "attack"?
The context of a scientific argument, I don't want it to sound like politics.
Maybe "falsify"?

Is there a way to use SE for authentication on my own site? Like if I wanted to make a web app but only make it available to SE users.
Oh I guess I could register it as an app and use the oauth stuff
Yeah duh
@JasonC Thanks man

Islam is the most unhappy site.
Oddly, other than judaism, I've typically not gotten religion sites
3:44 AM
(Certain aspects of Jewish culture, and the sheer number of rules and interpretations make it work well. I'm hindu, I only drop into hinduism.se to flag spam ;) )
CiviCRM Meta doesn't quite work with the face though because it has < 360 entries in PostHistory, but it's the happiest site.
Didn't expect Drupal was that bad... or was it because of downvote from spam flags..
I think that's the reason.
65409 downvotes by Drupal Community bot, drupal.stackexchange.com/users/-1/community?tab=topactivity
Out of 97833 in total.
3:50 AM
Maybe I should subtract out community's downvotes
What does community cast upvotes for?
@JasonC transferred votes from deleted accounts
and migration
Community has more DVs on Math (83688), which is mostly from my deleted accounts there.
Drupal certainly leads in Community DVs relative to the size of the site.

You ever have one of those days where you don't want to be at work, you just want to be at home curled up in a ball sobbing?
what's the minimum length a question title can be?
@JasonC by default 15, except 8 on ja.SO
@JamesENL If it makes you feeling any better, I am currently in 'my life has no meaning' mode. Interestingly, I am also in a feisty mood. Maybe I should turn down my aggression a bit.
TIL ja.SO uses 万 (man, ten-thousand) separator, not "k" (thousand) for rep, and John Skeet's rep is almost 1m
4:09 AM
I wonder if he hits 1m if that'll break anything
@JamesENL Unless one does it properly:

(well, it's still 62k short... assuming daily rep limit only, it's around 310 days)
I typo'd his name. I deserve to be punished orz
@Elephant 281 days ago his rep was twice as far from 1M as it is now (from the graph on the network profile). This puts the 1M mark at January 16, 2018.
Assuming the rate of growth over the next 281 days is the same as over the preceding ones.
4:15 AM
And ignoring any meta bounty extravaganza that's likely to happen near 1M.

@Elephant this happens to me too often
Mumble.... Oddly , I have the feeling this boils down to the assumption that the less you talk about something, the fewer will notice it and the less drama (and work) it will cause. Considering that the whole notification system is built to make it more difficult to notice decreases in rep than it is to notice increases, it would seems that the interpretation is quite correct.
8:55 AM
@Gerry ... first you go around and ban all the spammers and trolls and then you complain the sites get no traffic :P
9:49 AM
@Kylo you're assuming people would vote to "leave open". That is not the case in most careful reviews. You should demonstrate, with evidence, that the current system is hurting valid contributions. As long as you're not, repeating "this is why I hate SE" with a snarky attitude isn't going to help. — M.A.R. Jul 2 '16 at 15:57
Oh, old Kylo comment. O.O
@Oded, OK, if I could work that formula out do, do think I would be asking a question here? And calling out this site is worth a flag? So condoning this site is not being nice? What a narcissistic site. — KyloRen Oct 23 '16 at 13:04
Q: Editing without upping?

xavierm02Is there some way to edit an answer without pushing the question to the top of the list? My use case would be this answer that I just edited because the English was bad enough for two people to add comments about it. But an edit that minor shouldn't have pushed it to the top of the question list.

LOL -- I love that verbification

A: Round x to the nearest integer in "asked x year(s) ago"

Oh no, the question page now has "2 years, 9 months ago" and such things.
that's a welcome change
For example, q/4 was asked "8 years, 8 months ago". Does the comma even belong?
I know that "8 years, 8 months ago" is not what I would say.
@Stijn yep. But if there are too much duplicates (as @Gerry said) I expected to see them in the list. Moreover, in the top of the list.

Math is kind of depressing. I'm sitting next to a bunch of high school math teachers in training in Number Theory. Prof asks what an expression that looks like 2xy is in the context of right triangles and nobody could figure out that it's four times the area.
