Perhaps it's by analogy to close votes (without aging, sporadic closevotes accumulate over time) but if a post is drawing red flags once in a while and nobody looks at them, hiding the flags is solving the wrong problems.

@Magisch - there is a better option: get a job where you have very little things to do: like those guardians in a residence building or dispatchers who sit on a chair and stay connected to the internet all day long. Math users tend to generate new ideas during elections. In 2014 it was candidate score; in 2017 it was creating the election chat room ahead of time (when the question collection is announced). Makes sense... The downside is that the room is owned by a regular user instead of Grace Note.
