Google's own Chrome Extension thinks that inverted colors must be bundled with high contrast... switched to Dark Reader. Like it so far... nothing can go wrong with using a 3rd party extension that can see and modify everything your browser shows, right?

user315433
Well, the source doesn't seem to have any $.ajax(send_everything_to_evil_server) in it.

@zaq not yet. That is planned for V2, when everyone is hooked ...

user315433
Yeah, and of course there is no way to check whether the published extension has anything to do with the GitHub repo.

user315433
But one might say, if privacy is a concern, one shouldn't use Chrome to begin with...

If a privacy is a concern you might as will avoid the internet

in Discussion on question by TheEnvironmentalist: Can an external defibrillator deliver a continuous charge? on The Stack Exchange Network Chat, 2 hours ago, by TheEnvironmentalist
There's a scene in the TV show Dexter wherein the titular character electrocutes two people simultaneously with external defibrillators. He doesn't cause arrhythmias, as far as I can tell. He actually electrocutes them with extended shocks. My first thought upon seeing this was, "that's not how defibrillators work." I wanted to do some additional research just to be sure. I asked it here after googling around and not finding anything of note that actually describes modern defibrillator function.
The fellow wants to check whether a certain plot element in a movie is technically realistic. Which stack this type of question would be on-topic for?

Bio, maybe?

If the question is how modern defibrillators work, Health looks right.

They get too many questions of the "it hurts here" kind. :(

Straw poll: how many people actually flag spam via Smokey from messages in here?

user315433
What does it have to do with straws? (I do.)

Hmm, maybe I should just automate Chimney sweeps then...

user315433
Or you could make Smokey RO here and tell it to move its messages himself.

Somehow I don't think telling a bot that would do anything...

user202362
but if there aren't any spams, then it doesn't justify to have so many room owners :p

user315433
4:41 AM
There's still the automation part to do, but at least there's already a Python script controlling it (though I don't know if CE supports moving messages).

@zaq Pretty sure that's a no.

user315433
FR: if a question's title matches ^http\S*$ it should be nuked with 1 spam flag. Maybe 2 if abuse is a concern - although if a legitimate question has such a title and is not edited, that in itself is a problem.

user315433
This would help more than lowering the threshold to 3 on selected sites (which Tim apparently is still doing).

@zaq make sure to implement a Garbage Collector that doesn't require a stop all threads then as it might block for too long ...

Does anybody know on the Egoist hat if the question that you self answer has to be asked during Winter bash?
Do you have any clue @Shog9? It doesn't specify in the hat description.
Or...@bluefeet. Whomever is in here and knows this ;)

Seeing me harass the CM's for my stupid hat question? :P

Do you know mods are not blue here

Ohhhhh...I see that! You're so not a smurf right now! You are down here with us little people ;)

Few chatrooms are mod proof

Well...at least @Shog9 will appreciate my new avatar now that it has beer in it...Steelers beer!! Muahahahaha!

@steelersquirrel Probably, but I couldn't tell you for sure. Easy enough to test...

Way to go, Ankit :P
Is Shog testing this hat or is he telling us to? ;)

tricky question

Hehe! I don't want to ping him again for fear that he will burn my soul with fire :P

I know some resurrection spells. Need to test first

6:46 PM
Hahahaha!
I know a spell to make the Steelers win the superbowl. I need to test that one first, too ;)

I hope it's not a sacrificial spell
As I don't want to see you get arrested

It might be...you never know! I might sacrifice a German who might be here for superbowl. My evil plan is working to make this sacrifice happen! Muahahaha :P
Okay. I'm leaving. I am totally bummed about that hat. Now I have to go answer a Mortal kombat question or something. Argh ;)
Shouldn't that be specified in the hat description, though? gheez. I'm all rollin' up self answering one of my questions only to find out later that the question had to be asked during winter bash as well. I am sure that there is a description somewhere and I just missed it. Wouldn't be the first time ;)

user315433
I think this is true for duplicates but not necessarily other reasons.

user315433
Probably depends on tags though.

user315433
In science-y tags I don't see much that should be closed. Some ultra-specific content to be skipped or downvoted, along the lines of "debug your own code" but not much.

user315433
Closing only matters if there are people who will read that question and will want to answer it. Chances are small.
