It doesn't actually imply that things would get particularly hot; in fact, in an expanding universe, the equilibrium temperature should be pretty close to absolute zero, i.e. plenty cold for a snowball. ;)

@Shog so do I really have to edit this? Or is it adequately not an answer? It points to a comment on php.net which is a response to another comment about another comment, so I'm not really sure what the author was intending there.

And I came across it naturally, I wasn't out there looking for stuff to flag.
