@TinyGiant This: github.com/normalhuman/ReviewPro it's packaged as a Chrome extension.

I'm starting to think that Randall Munroe doesn't like doing "what if?" entries.
There have only been three since he started back up in July, and there are no thumbnails for those three in the archive.
This hurts my feelings. Personally.

@NormalHuman thanks

I think this is because he is putting all his energy into Things Explainer.

That makes sense, @NormalHuman.

@NormalHuman should we just edit that link out? honestly seems like the answer could survive without it

If it were to go into beta, we'd have ten additional Tavern marshals in the ten first days of public beta.

user259867
That's actually not possible, the flag quota does not grow fast enough to get Marshal in 10 days (without boosting it with a ton of rep).

Hmm, actually, yeah.
It'd still not be possible with rep boost.

And for good reason.

user259867
With 180k rep one has 100 flags/day even without prior helpful flags. One can get Marshal in five days, assuming you begin the first day by posting 12000 accepted answers.

I don't get why accepts are a thing, less so an exception to the rep cap

8:39 PM
More of a vote cap.

@NormalHuman Totally possible.
@bjb568 IIRC they said they have "vote cap" in mind, but to stop it from being overly confusing, they call it rep-cap.
Then again, it's confusing enough.

The fundamental idea is to cap the daily rep you can gain through upvotes.
It affects nothing else.

so you can dream of ever reaching Jon... someday

Can you guys tell me if you're seeing an "oops" when clicking on the "Questions" tab?

Q: I'm getting a big "oops" when clicking on the questions tab

inɒzɘmɒЯ.A.M Oddly enough, I'm only getting this when I click on the "questions" tab. I can open links to questions, go to "tags" page, successfully reach the home page by clicking on the logo etc. I'm using Chrome version 44.0.2403.157 m, Win8 OS. (Reproduced on Firefox 39.0)

No repro, IE 6. — Won't 16 secs ago
Hee, so they're secretly optimizing for IE?

@inɒzɘmɒЯ.A.M nope. Do you have the new nav?

8:47 PM
No, it's the old nav.

huh.

Hmm, my network tag in dev tools says "internal server error".

yeah, it returns a http 500 error message along with the personalized oops page

@Braiam Repro?

no, I'm just pointing why you get that message on the dev tools

8:55 PM
Well, I dunno how much detail Won't wants, since I'm the only one that's not a programmer here.
But I think the 500 error message is enough?

user259867
9:08 PM
"the only one that's not a programmer" isn't true... There are others: Braiam studies economics, I teach math, bjb licks fur.

What is a programmer?

someone who programs

In what faculty?
How much, how often, how well?
Someone with a doctorate in the computing sciences?
But who drives taxi?

Shog

Somewhat who sets up their video-recording box?

9:11 PM
>0, >0, NAN

I didn’t realize Shog drove taxi.

shhh!

I do know this long-haired sort with a Masters in philosophy who drives taxi.
That might be him.

user259867
Does typing "integrate sin(x) from 0 to pi" into Wolfram Alpha count as programming?

Yes.
Programmer is considered pejorative in our modern age. You should refer to such individuals as persons who program.

user259867
9:15 PM
I hear persons who code is en vogue.

@NormalHuman 2

user259867
Good job, computer.

One of the things I needed to memorize for calc.

user259867
Boo. Why memorize it? It's cos(0)-cos(pi) = 1-(-1).

9:17 PM
@Braiam oh gosh, scary, climb in the back seat, "can you take me to 5th street and main" , looks over shoulder "what have you tried so far?" "this isn't just a cab that will drive you to your destination without you attempting to get there yourself" "blah blah blah"

user259867
I don't think Shog was ever a proponent of WHYT.

@NormalHuman I know, but we used it a lot when doing the "what is an integral?" chapters
net change! area! infinite sum!

user259867
If it something that you naturally remember after computing it a bunch of times, that's different.

well, teacher said it was 2, then we just kept using it so I didn't need to ever compute it.
He then showed us why later when we learned actual antidirivitives.
@inɒzɘmɒЯ.A.M Accept is a vote, just a strange special one that shouldn't exist

9:34 PM
@bjb568 No, it is not.
It does not contribute to the vote total.
Thus it is not a vote.

user259867
Votes to delete don't contribute to vote total, either.

They contribute to the total votes to delete, eh?

user259867
Going by the database structure, the following are Votes: accept, upvote, downvote, offensive, favorite, start bounty, award bounty, delete, undelete, spam, mod-review, approve a suggested edit.

user259867
Meanwhile, votes to close and reopen are flags.

@NormalHuman At one point, all flags were votes.

darn youtube links don't have useful info in the URL :(
Now I have a dilemma: Does one trust a link to YouTube that a kitten posts? Or does one wait for someone else to try it and say it's okay?
And does one trust someone who would open a link a kitten posted?

You know what's in it, don't you?
Kitty porn, of course.

Or just don't click any links. Problem solved.
