@LynnCrumbling It appears that, because the legal cleanup did not have an associated burnination effort, the kudzu just won't go away

Today's xkcd comic (Episode VII):

@durron597 Sounds like either (a) the cleanup needs to happen again, this time with an accompanying burn, or (b) we capitulate, and resign ourselves to the fact that legal will just need constant attention. Was there a reason that tags weren't destroyed when they hit 0 open/unlocked questions?

@LynnCrumbling There were thousands of questions to edit.

@LynnCrumbling The remaining things that need to happen in really only need people with 10k SO rep or more (delete votes). However, where we could definitely use the help from 3k-10k range users is with source-code
Not just close votes, burninating the tag from on-topic questions too would be helpful (software-tools doesn't have any on-topic questions).

@durron597 Either. But it doesn't really matter now. ;)

@hichris123 thanks
Now that you've given me the power, how do you all decide whether to do "tp" or "tpu"?

@AstroCB bikeshed. Folks are more interested by accessible triva than whatever danger Flash presents today.

Very true.

@durron597 If all posts by the user should be reported (i.e. it's a blatant spam post, no hope for the user ever posting a legitimate post), use tpu.
@Shog9 Did you patch Flash today, Mr. Shog?

no, I just disabled it.

user259867
9:30 PM
and it's usually better to add - at the end to suppress the output: tp- or tpu-

I should probably disable Flash as well. There's really nothing that I use that needs Flash...

so if someone asks a not great but okay question, and then flips out with rage in an answer (see the most recent "offensive answer" notification) then the right thing to do is not blacklist him, even though it's a true positive

I wonder what @bjb has to say about Flash...

blacklist = spam, in other words, which "rage" is not.

@durron597 Yes; you don't want Smokey posting in here every time that user posts something just because s/he got angry one time.

9:31 PM
@AstroCB I understand, thanks!

@Unihedron On the main site it's 1000. I think this is the same for the discussion area. On the (very short) list of editors nobody under 1000 (except diamonds) has edited another user's post. (Some have retags, because at 500 you get retagging privilege, this being an old fork).

@1999 Ohhh I forgot about that. It was (kinda) before my time.

Q: Support Emoji in Markdown

Matt JohnsonStack Exchange uses Markdown, but unlike so many other sites that use Markdown, we don't support Emoji. I'd like to be able to write :smile:, :thumbsup:, :heart: or even :poop: and have it render correctly on all Stack Exchange sites. See the Emoji Cheat Sheet for more examples.

Paging @tchrist.

If you want Emoji, you know which plane to find them on.
SE supports emoji literals.
Sometimes.
But silly ASCII versions? fmh.

A: Is there a equivalence table to covert ASCII smileys to unicode emojis?

tchristNot everyone agrees on what is what, but here is one such possible table mapping input ASCII-art emoticons to Unicode emoji. Both data elements are single quoted, so backslashes and single quotes are escaped. 'o/' => '👋', '</3' => '💔', '<3' => '💗', '8-D' => '😁'...

"covert" smiles.

Fetal-maternal haemorrhage is the loss of fetal blood cells into the maternal circulation. It takes place in normal pregnancies as well as when there are obstetric or trauma related complications to pregnancy. Normally the maternal circulation and the fetal circulation are kept from direct contact with each other, with gas and nutrient exchange taking place across a membrane in the placenta made of two layers, the syncytiotrophoblast and the cytotrophoblast. Fetal-maternal haemorrhage occurs when this membrane ceases to function as a barrier and fetal cells may come in contact with and enter the...
