The simulation hypothesis contends that reality is in fact a simulation (most likely a computer simulation), of which we, the simulants, are totally unaware. Some versions rely on the development of simulated reality, a fictional technology. This technology has been a central plot device of many science fiction stories and films. == Origins == There is a long philosophical and scientific history to the underlying thesis that reality is an illusion. This skeptical hypothesis can be dated in as far back as ancient Greek philosophy. == Simulation argument == In its current form, the Simula...

I'm getting into a weired comment discussion here: meta.stackoverflow.com/a/295957/4428462 Is it me or him who does not understand this ?
Mostly this:
> Why will you flag a user's answer based on his other answers?

from a quick peek at his answer, I'd say you're correct here

"Why will you flag a user's answer based on his other answers?" I'd use a moderator flag to tell the mods that the user's other posts also are bad and need action in some way, no ?

user245368
Put a flag on the other answer, then.

5:58 PM
What if all the user's posts are bad ? Then it only really makes sense to use a single mod flag and ask for them all to be deleted. Using a single flag also does not leave too many flags in the mod queue.

Grphm. There is a flaw in my spam flagging workflow which I don't know how to fix... When Smokey reports spam, I get a desktop notification with the text of report. Clicking the notification opens a new browser tab with the post. I flag and close the tab...
Problem: now I'm in some other tab of the browser, not the one I was working in when the report came.

Userscript time?

user259867
Well, this is my script that does most of that. But how does Chrome determine which tab to show after I close the one with spam?

@Doorknob our dutch government protects our privacy by having all websites show a confirmation box: Yes, I accept the cookies. By not having that box you risk getting a fine...as website owner that is...

7:23 PM
@HomegrownTomato It should go back to the one you were working on...

user259867
@hichris123 If I press Ctrl-T and then Ctrl-W, I am indeed back in the tab I was. But not when the new one was opened by the extension.

huh

user259867
I use chrome.tabs.create({url: ...});, nothing fancy.

user259867
My current conjecture is that since the tab is created by a background page (which is just js with no html), that page is understood as a parent of the new tab. So Chrome would normally go back there, but since it can't, it just picks a tab (the one furthest on the right, it seems) to make active.
