is there a way to stop formatting for quote blocks?
got an error message as a quote in an answer, but it's making part of it italic

@cybermonkey Make it a code block inside the quote block. I'd just use a backtick there.

Can a user be reported if they vote to delete another user's answer on a question where there is only one other answer other than their own, if that answer is correct?
I answered, and another user answered, and they're bashing my answer (stating incorrect 'facts', downvoting my answer, voting to delete, etc, wouldn't be surprised if they flagged as NAA).

Well, these are not technically spam. I flag answers when they are blatant promotion. The questions are more like VLQ.

oh
I thot seeds could be flagged as spam.

user259867
@bjb568 They can, but at the flagger's own risk.

user259867
I don't mind an occasional declined flag: it still means a mod saw the post and [often] deleted it.

Nazi mods oppressing the flagfolk!

The OP never initially stated their compiler, thus I was working with VC++. Stack Overflow is a 'reference book', unless it is specific to a certain platform/compiler/etc (which this question is not), answers not specific to the OP's platform (but work) are allowed. Although I was stating fact from the compiler itself and the official documentation, a few 'hardcore' C++ users in the tag decided to (successfully, I deleted it myself) attempt to get my answer removed (yes, I did see the two delete votes). — cybermonkey 2 mins ago
rant over
the C++ hardcore users in the tag really get on my nerves..
extract from my answer:
from a user: 'No, you can't change this to &a either, because there's no a in scope in A::bar(). And the compiler knows perfectly well what foo is'; I basically took the code from a working part of OP's code (and that user was essentially saying that the OP was wrong, when that user themselves stated it was correct in the question's comments), and I took the error message from the compiler, and the compiler itself stated it didn't know what foo was.
extended rant over
now that user's basically stolen parts of the answer I deleted and used them in their own answer. sigh

A: Why are Rust executables so huge?

cybermonkeyThis answer relates to a pre-1.0 version of Rust, please feel free to update this answer once Rust 1.0 has been released. Rust uses static linking to compile its programs, meaning that all libraries required by even the simplest Hello world! program will be compiled into your executable. This al...

I've never used Rust in my life, that says how badly the OP researched that question. Still, rep is rep.

Q: mac sparsebundle content removed but finder report size same as before

Daniel Leeallo support let me briefly give that Mac Finder reports TimeCapsule was 0g available and one of the sparsebundle size was 600gb. I then used hdid to access it then du -hsc * and got 150g for dirA. i then sudo rm -Rfv dirA ... succeeded. I expect that available should be 150g but finder still rep...
