Why are SO silver badges invisible?
I blame CSS.

10:50 AM
The SO profile is hard to read because there is not enough contrast for the silvers.

@IanKemp AKA lacks minimal understanding.

In contrast :), on ELU it is easy.

@tchrist I agree. They should make the gold badges red, the silver badges blue and the bronze badges green.

@Unihedron yeah, good thing that one was removed

@IanKemp ... no.

10:51 AM
@Unihedron Do you do calligraphy that you should know that secret?

@Unihedron that was sarcasm

... no.

When laying down gold leaf, you put red ink behind it, and when laying down silver leaf, you put blue ink. This vastly improves the look.

:p

Old Illuminator trick.
They of course did not use bronze leaf because it is not a noble metal.
Bronze would sometimes be used to bind the codex, however, as it could be replaced at need.
My friend took a summer calligraphy course from one of ER2’s two Royal Calligraphers, and he taught her this secret of their guild.

well i guess it's not a secret anymore...

@tchrist "If you see a bug or want to raise a feature request, please do so in the usual manner, as a new question". You didn't read the update, did you?

Yes, I read that.
I was teasing you.

:P

Would you rather it were on MSO or MSE?

11:03 AM
Consider me teased.

@Oded Will the fixed answers be un-deleted?

See the twin screenshots above.

If SO only relevance, then MSO. Otherwise, MSE.
@Unihedron uuuh. I didn't delete those :/

Well, I haven't checked elsewhere, but I think it is an SO CSS issue.
looks elsewhere
I actually think part of the problem is with these fat-screened monitors being too sensitive to angle of incidence.
Which is hard to solve.

Not much we can do about that one...

11:05 AM
my monitor objects to remarks about its weight

Where is that simulator that shows what the same image looks like if you are aged 10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90 again? It is useful for stuff like this.

it is pretty sensitive in that regard

@Oded Indeed true. But it looks fine on ELU yet lame on SO.
Remember all the CSS tweaks for contrast when the new CSS got rolled out to each site? Link contrast was a sore spot. This seems related.

Slap it on MSO then. With [bug] and [design] on it

11:07 AM

Q: How do you remove fields from a custom list in SharePoint that have been added via the 'Add from existing site columns' menu item?
