Morning!

Just a quick question - any of the bot writers here has ever attempted to write a bot that accepts its command in written "natural" language? Was searching for some ideas or general direction as to how such behaviour is implemented.

Do translators count?

@JanDvorak I would suppose those just translate the input

they do

8:17 AM
@SPArchaeologist What's "natural" language?

BJB has technically made one

8:19 AM
@Unihedro time ago there was a chat bot that played hangman. You would send it the command "hangman" and then it would start playing. I was exploring ways to have a bot that recognize a command like "Want to play hangman?" or "Do you want to play hangman" but ignores "Hangman is getting boring".

May I assume a troll?

@SPArchaeologist Oh, why not start by analyzing parts of speech?

@Unihedro I have made some exploration in naïve Bayes classifier, but it doesn't seem the right track.
@Unihedro that is the point, I don't know much in the field, so I was hoping for suggestion about fields of study (== names of technologies I can research :P)

As the size of the network has grown, community team resources have been spread thin. This is no surprise, but the cool thing is how members of the team have come to this realization on their own, and begun coming up with thoughtful ideas about how we can work smarter. We're having more demanded from us, and in turn, we're pondering how to step up. It's a satisfying thing to be a part of.
