I'm trying to find something on the internet that I read before. It's an article or a blog post or something about StackExchange. Well, it might be old enough that it's about StackOverflow--I'm not sure. The article says something like "at some point we had an epiphany: if we let the users run the site(s), they'll do a better job that we would". I think it might be an article about the history of SE. Since the (famous) regex xhtml "parsing" thread doesn't contain a valid answer that is a regex (afaik), then that answer shouldn't be penalized for not being a regex. Of course, it could be penalized for other things, like LQ, as others have said.

Hm. I don't remember last time I interacted with SE sites via anything other a search query, so don't have an opinion on interface tweaks. Presumably they will be helpful to new users.

I guess the best thing about redesign is that sites other than SO will get question lists other than newest or active.
