@hichris123 You haven't posted on SO since October, so your decision to not participate does not really affect anything much. Unless a part of the contest is to close questions (don't know, haven't read the rules).

12:10 AM
@Fundamental Well, I'll probably post something soon. But the whole premise strikes me as stupid, since it's overriding intrinsic motivation in favor of extrinsic motivation.

Q: summer bash 2015

Vickeljust finished reading the winter bash success story and thought, hey that was fun and maybe it helped to improve the quality of stackexchange sites. So my question is: Could we do a SUMMER BASH? during some days in summer (June), July or August. You could earn your "beachwear", like board short...

I'm totally imagining Summer Bash as that one episode of fanservice they stick into every single Anime series regardless of how serious it is. — Mysticial 3 mins ago

Let's have that bash thing going on every day of the year while we're at it.

Oh, it's friday night.
Nobody's here.
What does everybody do now?

@bjb568 Be with their family. Sleep. Do actual stuff.

"The family"… there's my dad, which is lying on the other cough internetting, "sleep" not tired, "actual stuff" I'm relaxing, catching up on Hello Internet
I already did skewl and some DD.

@bjb568 Go poke your dad. Then !!/turnoffcomputer.

@hichris123 I poke him daily. What would I do after turning off the computer?

And/or contribute to an open source project

2:36 AM
Can't do that while listening to podcast.

@bjb568 ... uh, talk? Be with him? Do everything people did for thousands of years before computers?
@bjb568 Why not?

@hichris123 I'm with him too much. haay, imateen
@hichris123 focus, man

@bjb568 I am too, remember? In fact, I'm like 6 months younger than you or whatever.

@hichris123 I never told y'all my age…

@bjb568 Oh really. Well, you kinda told me where you go to school, and I'm fairly sure you did tell your age, so...

2:39 AM
But anyway, I do spend plenty of time together and won't really benefit from more.
@hichris123 Find my age.

@bjb568 Probably in a deleted message.
But I'm looking...

@hichris123 Oh, there was some private info, sure. But I make very sure I don't post it.
Realworld-internet separation!
To people younger than me: There is in fact a real world!
Quite scary. Don't go there.

@bjb568 Oh, I know. It's the "I'm in my freshman year" part (tell me if you want to delete this).

Doesn't directly say age.

@bjb568 That implies 13-16, so...

2:42 AM
:)

In fact, @Doorknob just happens to be at the lower end cough of that spectrum. And he may or may not be a grade lower than Fresh. :P
Wait wait he had his birthday.

Would anybody care to know my age on my birthday?

Typo == tired == sleep

2:49 AM
@bjb568 Well, I mean you might be sleep-typing now, so...

@hichris123 Oh, I might be? Why would you say that?

@hichris123 Yeah, I just turned 14 about a week ago. :P

@Doorknob Congrats!
darn kids always growing

@bjb568 Because you made a typo, which signifies you're tired, which signifies you might be sleep-typing.

I mean on my birthday.

Oh I thought he was hiding because he told everyone it was @Doorknob's birthday.

4:19 AM
actually, if they reuse their account, the easier we catch them

@JanDvorak But if we destroy it, more signal into SpamRam

@Undo is there?

Yes

user259867
I don't know if it's automatic or not, but reviewing flag history on Drupal (or other sites) shows the spammer accounts as destroyed, except recent ones.

So, the strong signals are not strong enough to combat drupal spam.

4:25 AM
@InfiniteRecursion I'd like to know how much of it we never see.
Oh, smokey can do post bodies now
we just need some regexes

@Undo Great, @uni might have regex suggestions. How about adding filerepair forum for answers?

It only does questions atm

Ending the post with bare URL is a pretty strong sign in general, though not 100%.

Python posts are not followed by a url, check for >>>>url

@Andy nope, all of it

No @ɥʇǝS. I don't feel offended, I just ignore it. Please close it with one more cv. I feel uncomfortable seeing guys discuss about how they should communicate with us.

4:55 AM
@InfiniteRecursion Afraid I don't have cv power on Stack Overflow, sorry :/

@InfiniteRecursion done

@Undo I'll be interested to hear how long your API quota lasts.

@Andy I'm hoping that by batching some of the larger sites into groups we can make it last longer

@Andy Smoke signals are the best.

@InfiniteRecursion I feel uncomfortable being expected to make decisions about what a whole other group of people wants, especially when the decision has already been made and I get ripped apart if I suggest anything else :P

user259867
@Undo Your filter grabs a lot of data, you don't really need that much. I build filters by unchecking everything and then adding stuff I really want. In this case: post body, user rep.

@Fundamental Mmmm, all I'm grabbing is post body, user rep, and I think a link to the user.

user259867
Hm, maybe I copied the filter incorrectly...

oh, copying it into the interactive thing is tricky

4:59 AM
@Undo you have an API key right?

@Undo Will the delay filling the queue cause a problem? How often do you get 5 posts that need to be checked for spam in quick succession?

@hichris123 yes

@Undo To make you comfortable, I should post "How should I communicate with them male members of the community? Should I use he, Sir, or gentlemen?" :P

@InfiniteRecursion I would upvote it. Please do it.
