Oh well... CJam crashes when comparing strings to characters
The cobra answer is the only one that has gained upvotes so far. Any idea why?

@JanDvorak I did it, I liked the logic in it (the first one, not the others). Others mostly I wasn't able to understand.

Holy crap...the starboard.

Just realized the off-topic close vote reasons have been changed. Where has the close vote reason of "insufficient information" gone? I wanted to close this question with that very reason. :(

@JanDvorak - I noticed the new reason which is quite big and has a few reasons combined together and went ahead with that, as something which might not be useful to users in future in its current state.

Q: Should we have a more specific close reason for vague debugging questions?

Shog9For several months now, we've had a close reason (actually an off-topic reason, but no matter) for poorly-asked debugging questions: This question appears to be off-topic because it lacks sufficient information to diagnose the problem. Describe your problem in more detail or include a minimal...

I'd say that questions that are actually good, but still miss some information should be closed as "could not reproduce"

@Shog9 hey, just curious to know, are you (and/or the dev team) aware that search is utterly broken for over a week now?
21
Q: Search results are old/out of date

DavidGI was trying to do a search for new questions using the advanced search tags such as is:question and intags:mine. This normally works well, but today it is not showing any questions newer than 2nd June. For example, try this link which should show all questions in my tags, ordered by newest first...

@ShadowWizard did you get any reply of your email?

@DroidDev about the design bugs? Yes, it said a laconic "thanks, we will handle it" and two bugs were fixed silently since then.

@ShadowWizard I think one out of those fixed one is this. Still not fixed properly.

@DroidDev well, it's better than before where the number was cut in the middle. From a level 7 bug in my scale it dropped to level 2. :)
Broken search is level 10 :/

12:32 PM
@ShadowWizard Ya, that's true, but I wonder why they are not doing work properly. If they were fixing it, they should have done it properly. :/

@DroidDev it's not "they", it's one single employee - Jin - and can't possibly know why he's not fixing the bugs.

@ShadowWizard technically search is not broken...it is just not using the latest data. It is more a sysop thingy then a dev thingy... /me ducks

@ShadowWizard didn't know that, but if one person is doing all the design work for SE, then its just too-much.

@DroidDev probably... I'm tempted to create twitter account just to ask him personally here ;)
@rene search is also returning posts that are already deleted; advanced search like answer count is off... by all means, it's broken.
:throws a cake on rene:

No icecream?

12:37 PM
@ShadowWizard you don't have one already?? :/

@rene oh no, you would just eat it, I know it!
@DroidDev nope. :D

@ShadowWizard You got me there...

Never saw a need to create one. Facebook is all the social life I'll ever need

@ShadowWizard so no shadows on twitter for now. :)

@DroidDev not yet :)

12:41 PM
@ShadowWizard it's not that good actually, the only use I have found of twitter is to follow all the news channels and get un-altered raw news instantly.

You're missing out on my pearls of wisdom though @ShadowWizard.

pearls of wisdom that really made me laugh and now half of my peers are looking at me with strange faces. lol

Mission accomplished.

@Bart for this I just have to browse the starred posts here. :D

@ShadowWizard Morning*14?

12:46 PM
True @ShadowWizard. My best work is here.

@ShadowWizard what if I told you bart's only message showing in currently starred chat on right side is the one that you starred. Every other message is posted by others.
is there a query to find out the user with highest number of starred message in particular chatroom?

string GetUserWithMostStarredMessages() { return "Bart"; }

String whatIsKillingMe() { return "boredom"; }

@DroidDev chat data isn't stored anywhere as far as I can tell, only way is writing custom code that will scrape the pages

@ShadowWizard or to log the websockets

12:58 PM
@ShadowWizard pointless. If it isn't me, it should be made so. So don't waste your time.

@DroidDev wrong assumption, not my star! Proof. ;)

@ShadowWizard do you want to say that APIs are not provided for chat? Because I think chat is stored. You can browse through years and years of chat(just saying)

@JanDvorak do they also show chat data??

Qi'tee is not pleased?

1:00 PM
or is it QT?

@Bart now that's my star. Happy? ;)

@ShadowWizard there is a socket for every room

@DroidDev API might provide it, was referring to Data Explorer or the public data dump.

@ShadowWizard oh! ok

1:01 PM
now what comes to mind when I think about burger...

read a joke on facebook about cats, but I think lot of you guys like cats. That's why I didn't posted it in den either and also here

@DroidDev so I take it you don't like cats?
Nothing wrong with that, many people don't like cats :)

@ShadowWizard its not that I don't like them, I am neutral about this.

@SPArchaeologist isn't that morning train a pearl of wisdom, something we'll talk about in the years to come?
@DroidDev so you're a true Druid... amazing. ;)
The druid is a playable character class in the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game. Druids wield nature-themed magic. Prior to 4th edition, they gain divine magic from being at one with nature, or from one of several patron gods of the wild, while in 4th edition, they gain primal magic from the world and its nature spirits. Unlike the cleric, druids do not have special powers against undead and, in some editions, cannot use metal armor. Druids have a unique ability that allows them to change into various animal forms, and various other qualities that assist them in natural setti...
> Alignment: True neutral

@ShadowWizard I am, almost for 80% of things I see.
but joke was good :D

1:08 PM
@ShadowWizard I dunno. To start, I propose that we study the number of star on each post and try to decode the message the unicorns must have encrypted in them.

@ShadowWizard I would expect the number 42 to appear somewhere in that math voodoo stuff.

@JanDvorak agree, voted.

> his question will likely solicit debate, arguments, polling, or extended discussion
what the hell
voted too

@Stijn yeah, too many times users are way too trigger happy with closing.

1:19 PM
2 more votes needed...
@ShadowWizard Yeah, they even have a chatroom dedicated for that...
Let's see if the +2 on my rep is from the suggested edit on SU...
Hhmm, one of my answers on SU is on a question on how to install a keylogger...

[ SmokeDetector ] All-caps title: RUN TIME ERROR '3061' on stackoverflow.com

s/title//

That worked!

@rene so now all your key strokes are logged?

I guess so...

@ShadowWizard That OP did get an answer...
Always wonder why they can't run psexec or powershell but are allowed to run windows scripting host stuff...

the full train scored 106 stars. Only 16 more and we could have called it the "Super Mario 64 train"

@rene I think scripting is more limited and/or blocked by OS than powershell.

@ShadowWizard Really? Don't make me try that on your box...

@SPArchaeologist 106 is also good. Sum of digits is 7, multiply in the last digit you get 42.
@rene do your worst! :P

1:38 PM
Some things you will regret sooner or later :-)

@ShadowWizard Guess this is time to use the big guns, then....
(made by a Deviant Art user with a little to much time on hand. That said, I am pretty sure Lauren had that in mind all time along).

@SPArchaeologist can't agree more! ;)

1:54 PM
I always assumed that if I move a mail in outlook to a different local pst the mail got deleted from the server pst...

@ShadowWizard About Lauren actually having that in mind or the "too much time" part? ^_^

2:22 PM
@SPArchaeologist both!

Am I missing something or are reviewtasks in SEDE anonymous? Is there a way to know your leave open / closed rate on close reviewtasks?

 Prestige Worldwide

Some pretty cool dudes who drink entirely too much alcohol and...
this room contains only spam ,anger and frustrated messages is this room valid?

Why did I assume that was Lounge<C++>?

@BlueBerry-vignesh4303 not from the sound of it... (goes to check)

Given what is given a pass in other rooms, I don't see why this one should be nuked. But it wouldn't be a great loss either.

@BlueBerry-vignesh4303 interesting

3:15 PM
@BlueBerry-vignesh4303 couldn't see any spam in there, looks like a valid room. If you don't like the language just don't visit it. :)

@ShadowWizard maybe not spam,but language is all about frustration from developers :)

@BlueBerry-vignesh4303 so? Chat exists, among other things, to let the programmers relax and tell what's on their mind.

A: Offensive, inappropriate, and un-professional chat room names

BoltClockOK here are my observations and thoughts on this whole issue: (you'll notice I didn't answer the two-parter in the original question, that's because everything that follows addresses the first part, and I don't know the answer to the second) Stack Overflow's content policies Not that you peopl...

Unless there're really vulgar/offensive things in there, better let them keep it.

3:19 PM
seems to be a room for a few people who know eachother well

@BlueBerry-vignesh4303 that screenshot made my chuckle

@BlueBerry-vignesh4303 what about it? It's about a room name which appears to all users so it can't contain offensive words.

previously i got my room banned with this type of content

Messages inside a room are shown only to those who explicitly visit the room.

3:20 PM
hmm..ok..
thanks for the response have a good day :)

@BlueBerry-vignesh4303 evening actually, but thanks! :)

@ShadowWizard here too :)

Just noticed that when ignoring a user his/her avatar shrinks. Cool!
Time to go, cya guys, girls, trolls, unicorns and everything else! :D

Brown.
We all forgot to say brown.
It was a terrible tragedy.
For future reference, to any developers that might be wondering: it takes longer to fill in your catch block with //catch exceptions than it does to just type throw;
The latter will also make people hate you less.

This type of voting does not make it fair imho for such things without discussion period and then voting when it is thoroughly discussed. The early proposals get more votes and then the mass effect may also follow. That is why I think starting the vote simultaneously is a more fair procedure for things like this. — Final Contest 2 mins ago

Q: Low Quality review queue erroneously showing "Close" instead of "Recommended Close"?

LBTI was in the Low Quality Review queue, and the following review confused me: http://stackoverflow.com/review/low-quality-posts/3400690 It's showing eight "Close votes", which should be more than enough to close a question. I checked the question's revision history, and it wasn't somehow closed...

@rene I had not read that. Interesting stuff. That's not quite the situation I'm referring to, though.

@animuson Don't you think by the time it gets to -2 and a bunch of recommend closes it should be nuked completely?

This code is littered with "catch { }" blocks. They're literally empty except for, sometimes, a comment.

To Be Implemented?

7:41 PM
That was probably the intention. At some point.

Maybe it was converted from VB where the first line said on error resume next

7:57 PM
Haha, I do not think so.

8:09 PM
I think it should be migrated to turkish.so
But I can't judge if it is crap...
closed now...
