bot can be killed now. Ping Undo or hichris if you want murder

brandishes bot-murdering sword

10:24 PM
It's funny that I can figure out @m0sa just talked in the dev room 3 minutes ago, but yet I can't see the message. :P

10:52 PM

@animuson Um... speachless.
> I do what I want :)
sigh

> I have a mod hammer :)
>:D

Seriously, stop using KBD formatting inappropriately. It has been discussed on meta if you're interested in reading. — animuson 2 mins ago
^ I want to upvote your comment but I can't @animuson!

...because he locked it ;(

I know... :(

10:54 PM
You can in 24 hours.

@animuson 24 hour lock? Why not a 1 hour?

Because he probably won't even see it in the next hour.
The goal is that hopefully he'll notice, not be able to rollback, leave and forget about it so the issue can die.

@animuson lmfao
@animuson I love how he went into an edit war with you. "I do what I want" lol

"Please provide proof" W3C says so.

11:16 PM

@BenjaminGruenbaum I love how users sometimes think they can win an edit war with a mod.
makes for some amusing reading sometimes

@BenCollins I find the fact users feel so passionately about that stuff hilarious :D
"He changed my <kbd> tag. This. Means. War."

I doubt very much it's a passion for <kbd>. I think it's rather a combo of a need to be right and an ego that says you can't tell me what to do

Makes me wish they'd just remove it. Go back to using bold for keys. :P

the fact that we're on the internet is like throwing gas on kitchen fire

11:20 PM
"How dare you change my <kbd>? Where did you get the audacity?"
I wonder if it would've deteriorated into an edit war if @animuson hadn't locked it. The lengths people go to to 'win' on the internet for no apparent reason are really amusing.
I don't know if 'amusing' is the right word, it's amusing in a baffling way.
woah

Q: Reduce the number of close votes required to close a question

BohemianThe close queue is massive - sliding in to 120K - and growing. Clearly, the process is broken. Why not just reduce the number of votes required to close a question? Why must be 5 close votes? Why not 3, or even 2? Why will reducing it lead to significantly different results? What precisely, wi...

-_-

>.<

@BenjaminGruenbaum Um... wat? sigh

Don't like it huh? What am I not considering here? It seems like a simple approach to turn a dial down a couple of notches. — Bohemian 35 secs ago
:D
I honestly don't get why people care that much about the close vote queue size.
It's just a queue, there is no harm in having questions there - it's not like the other queues where you have a big quality problem if those questions remain unattended.
Most of it is questions that are unlikely to get answers or attention anyway.

Brown?
sorry I haven't been around much lately folks... I really have missed you all!

Hiya @Lix

Lix
@Undo - Hi there!

We think @jadarnel might have gotten ran over by a truck or, worse, picked up a life at half price.

@hichris123 Why do you have my answer's link in your nomination?

Lix
11:42 PM
best of luck @Undo!

@TheWobbuffet Huh what? Where?
@Lix Thanks!

@TheWobbuffet Um... what?

you didn't see nothin'...

Glitch?

blames @Shog9

11:43 PM
@Shog9 What have you done..?

@Shog9 Now you're just making me look bad... spins wheel of blame

@TheWobbuffet This is what happens when you edit out the link: @hichris123 gets punished

@Shog9 I was working on the questions :P

@Shog9 Did you get enough sleep last night? :P

@hichris123 there's such a thing as "enough" sleep?

11:45 PM
typeof(Wobbuffet) != typeof(hichris123)

That must be one of those things that happen to folks who get "enough" coffee

Heh.
So you're saying you need more coffee @Shog9?

obviously

Lix
There was no town hall chat this time right?

nope

11:46 PM
@Shog9 I'm surprised you got hichris and Is' nominations confused, he has way more votes than me

@TheWobbuffet you assume I look at votes. HA!

Lix
I like this format... in the end, the chat transcript was just translated to a post... why not author it as one :)

it's working well so far
big problem with THC was that it didn't scale for Stack Overflow

@Shog9 I made a userscript for that meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/221908/…

Lix
+1 @Shog9 - it seems so :)

11:48 PM
even when we didn't advertise it, there were way too many people and it was way too hard to get all of the candidates into just a couple of different sessions.
so a lot of folks ended up just answering later on anyway

Lix
The mere fact that the process can evolve so seamlessly speaks for itself...

Should've known: the answer is always meta.

@Shog9 The answer to meta is meta?

especially that question

Lix
Yes... those sessions answering the bold lines...endless scrolling...

11:49 PM
Not so much the question, "where do I ask about jQuery?"

Lix
very stressfull :)

I can't believe I never posted the Charcoal app in the Charcoal HQ
You didn't hack SE :P

@TheWobbuffet Me and Manish both have.

A: Show badge on Questions/Answers that generated a badge

animusonI think you need to look at this feature in the eyes of the average visitor. The information displayed on the page and especially in the question and its answers should all be relevant to the visitors. Simply put, the average visitor couldn't care less about what badges it's received. It's not at...

@Manishearth - hey man

11:53 PM

Lix
haha - I got schooled in the pets beta chat about that :P

Lix
It really is hard to follow a transcript with me confusing people :P
Always makes me feel good that people are forced to use 3chars to ping me :P
