@Pekka Meine neues Handy... tootootootootoo... Meine neues Handy... tootootootootootoo
Love this song, although I haven't had the time yet to translate it precisely.

I always feel really guilty when I forget about a bounty and it gets auto-awarded for half-points. Just did it again... >_<" (This was on GameDev; this has happened on sites I don't use very often.)

9:29 AM
@JeremyBanksʬʬʬ does it not show in the global inbox when the manual award period starts?

I was under the impression that it did, for whatever reason, but I've never started a bounty to see it in action myself.

I think I've always awarded before it got that far

Hmm, it's possible you only get a top bar notification.

9:48 AM
in which case it wouldn't show cross-site

Aye

@awoodland I think there's a global inbox notification at three days and one day remaining, but I don't think there's one for the beginning of the grace period.

11:20 AM
I showed my wife (who's a historian) the uncyclopedia article on trogdor, which she loved but wanted to correct - apparently old english is inaccurate for that time period, it would have been anglo-saxon and the dates are wrong!

1:23 PM
@awoodland Wow, that article is hilarious =)

1:37 PM
@mmyers Thanks! I may just post on there. Seems like a good fit =)

I am severely tired this morning. Coffeecoffeecoffeecoffee.

4:05 PM
Ugh.

@TimStone Oh yeah?

Indeed.

5:00 PM
@TimStone I should have known you were really rchern!

I admit nothing!

A StackExchange employee said that! That means it's true beyond the shadow of a doubt.

spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam baked beans spam spam spam and spam.
What I get from this article is that 200 people have moved into the town I live in since myself, and they desperately need something to do. cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/story/2012/02/22/…

@jadarnel27 Lies! @Zypher will vouch for my existence...if I bribe him.
@mootinator For some reason I'm even more amused by the fact that it isn't even a lake.

I always wondered what the point of having a dugout in that particular location was. I assumed it was a failed attempt at putting a man-made lake in the campground.
Now it will actually be that. (Except, hopefully not failed.)
stops himself from making a tasteless joke.

@mootinator Define "dugout".

Large man-made hole. Presumably was used for collecting water for irrigation at one point.
Okay, I'll make a tasteless joke.

@mootinator Ah, gotcha.

5:27 PM
Perhaps the town heard people were dying to swim in there.

@TimStone where is that bribe again?

I'm sure I can smuggle up a Philly Cheesesteak for ya.

The best bribes are food bribes

I want Starbucks
Will work for hipster food.

Hipster food, by design, is food that can't be supplied. It has to come from a restaurant I've never heard of.

6:43 PM
Or you could just slightly alter fast food and tell me it's from some new place I've never heard of.

7:17 PM
@jadarnel27 Perhaps this mug is for you?

Q: Will you pretty please loosen password requirements on StackExchange accounts?

OffBySomeThe StackExchange account passwords requirements are quite onerous, arbitrary, and undocumented, particularly the requirement of requiring 8 unique characters, a requirement I have never seen at even any banking site. Because of this (and other) arbitrary requirements, "Password1" is valid, but ...

If you want to get in on the ground floor of the next big MSO argument.

8:18 PM
@PopularDemand I signed up for a Stack Exchange OpenID the other day while I was testing something.
Times prompted by the password error message: 0
That said, I'll be leasing my vacation property elsewhere, I try and stay away from those heated discussions. :P

8:33 PM
Maybe I'm just too laid back, but I don't really care what the password requirements are. Anywhere.
This just feels a lot like if I went to my bank and said, "I don't really like 10 digit account numbers; can you make mine 13 digits instead? That's what I'm used to. Thanks!"
@Chris There is SO MUCH WIN in that coffee cup. It's just full of win. Where do I buy that?

Sooo over the top :)
Hm, I have a hunch that Community♦ doesn't always "randomly" bump old questions
Case in point: I posted the following answer
0
A: Incorrect filling of search box on the 'Unanswered' tab

ChrisIt sounds like your question is really "Why does Stack Overflow use AND operations instead of OR operations to search for tagged questions?" I honestly don't understand this behavior myself. However, I can offer you a few workarounds. Create a Stack Exchange filter with the tags you need....

Within 15 minutes, the following question got bumped
6
Q: Search certain word in title or as a tag

mhsI'd like to get a list of all questions that have "z3" (or any other word) in the title or are tagged with it, e.g. something like title:z3 OR [z3] This doesn't work, however, as the system searches for "z3 or" in the title. Without "OR" the default behaviour seems to be to search for question...

Coincidence?

9:07 PM
@Chris Thanks!

9:26 PM
This trash is garbage.

10:26 PM
I just got the Vox Populi badge, both on SO and on meta.SO
And I don't think that's correct for either one
hmm seems like a meta thread already popped up in the meantime

@CodeInChaos More like four questions on Meta
In about three minutes
Looks like Civic Duty is causing problems, too

Q: Vox Populi badges being awarded incorrectly

Thomas McDonaldI've just been awarded the Vox Populi badge on Meta Stack Overflow, Stack Overflow, Gaming & WordPress. I don't think I've voted once today, let alone 40 times on each site.

Q: The civic duty badge is going nuts!

Simon SheehanIt appears along with the Vox Populi badge problems, Civic duty has also gone insane.

It might be caused by the following "fix":
23
A: "Votes cast" should include votes on deleted contributions

Nick CraverStarting with the next build, votes on deleted posts will be included in the profile counts. This will also apply to the various voting badges to match: Civic Duty, Electorate, Suffrage, Vox Populi. Also, the badge progress on review should remain accurate. Downvoting bad content (which usuall...

Receive ALL THE BADGES!

FOR GREAT JUSTICE!

FOR EQUALITY

Uh oh...

Q: Electorate badges for everyone

Conrad FrixProbably related to Vox Populi and Civic Duty badge problems

Maybe we should just consolidate these into a single question? :)

10:36 PM
I was just thinking that.

Q: Comment Timestamp is earlier than Answer Timestamp

FoamyCheck out the comments on this answer: http://stackoverflow.com/a/6721379/483520 Arnold's comment seems to be referring to Voo's, but the timestamps have it before both Voo's comment and the answer to which the comment applies. Is this a bug?

is a far more interesting bug. :P
TIME TRAVELING COMMENTS!

Why do people keep asking Vox Populi questions when there are five Vox Populi questions on the front page?

I closed a duplicate once where the person said they had checked but couldn't find any similar posts.

Don't these people even look before clicking Ask Question?

...Only the duplicate was right below their question on the front page.

10:38 PM
facepalm

Someone should just put Meta into read-only, heh.
@PekkasReputationBordello Pssh, you only had like 300 deleted down votes. Not nearly as dramatic as I had hoped. :P

@TimStone Well, it probably wasn't when they started writing it. It's the people that chime in 15 minutes later that I have no patience with
Meta should detect these situations and block new questions for 10 minutes

@MichaelMrozek In that particular case, it had been there for over half an hour, and was a bug several days old. Generally in cases like the one we just had, I give people the benefit of the doubt for a few minutes...though after that, eh.

@TimStone I beg to differ.
Before
After

Ah, I didn't think to check your Stack Overflow profile. :)

10:46 PM
Oh, wow

Nicely done. ;)

@TimStone finally, I have a trophy of all the terrible, terrible questions that I helped put out of their misery. I like to think of them as 4,149 tiny, tiny antlers on my living room wall. (Evil cackle)
Which is quite a lot seeing as I live in one small room :)

@PekkasReputationBordello Wouldn't that be (4,149-2,160) tiny antlers?

It must be dangerous to lean against things in your house.

@TimStone oh yeah. When they come from my address, they already know to prepare for "domestic accident: Multiple Stab Wounds (several hundred)"
@Chris the 1989 join the 2160 that are already there

10:50 PM
@PekkasReputationBordello Ah. I was only thinking of the ones that were "dead" (deleted)

@TimStone How did your Meta votes change?

Insignificantly, I'm a softie it seems.

@TimStone well, so you didn't shatter as many dreams as you thought... that's nice, isn't it. :)

Oh, I shatter dreams through merciless close votes. I tend to save down votes for particularly bad feature requests.

@TimStone makes sense
The Stack Exchange network is truly home to all kinds. Behold Arnold Spence, a time traveller:

10:56 PM
Ohh...actually, I think your comment is spot on.

@TimStone yeah, maybe! It's definitely a strong possibility. I just can't think how this could have happened... the Ajax sending the comment would have to carry client-side time information for this, which wouldn't make sense. I'm really interested to learn what caused this one.

who here uses a mac? check out my new inbox notifier: stackapps.com/questions/3081/…

@GregHewgill I don't use one, but that looks cool!

@PekkasReputationBordello Well, I was reminded of this bug, which happened days before.

@TimStone good find, that makes even more sense - NY is UTC-5, too

11:05 PM
Oh, hahah
I've voted to close now, of the bug report that the owner of the answer posted :P
Though to save the extra step I suppose I should have voted for what I linked to, since it too was closed as a duplicate.

I'm trying to get votes so I can at least have a chance at the app contest :)

@GregHewgill Unfortunately I don't have a Mac, otherwise I'd give it a go.
I had hoped to get my entry ready for the end of the contest, but I'm not sure that'll happen now. :/

I was thinking of doing a windows version too, but I didn't get to it
besides, integrating IE is a lot harder than WebView :)

11:21 PM
@GregHewgill I'll give it a whirl
