12:44 AM
Evening.

12:54 AM
Evenin'
That was my accomplishment for today.

1:05 AM
@mootinator Oooh, snow.
@mootinator You made it snow?

I shoveled two feet of it off my deck and made a slide down the stairs with it for my daughter :)

2:04 AM
@mootinator Nice.

4 hours later…
6:00 AM
above answer is flagged as duplicate answer ... .... even there is only one answer ... how its an dup ... ?

Not familiar with mod tools, but where does the link go? Same answer?

@mootinator yup same answer

Odd. Definitely doesn't look like a duplicate of anything there. Maybe it was self-deleted? (Though I suppose you'd see that.)
Where's some Tim who knows everything when you need one.
Or is that just the review queue and not 10k tools.
Because then self-deletion of the duplicate does make sense.

agreed ...

Ehh, brain fart.

6:38 AM
Hiya folks.

Hey @Moshe

Yo
My radio spot last week is apparently available online.

Ooo

Also, got a new iPod touch, time to rewrite all of my apps for the taller screen.
Finals time, damnit.
@mootinator Also a recruiting agency is messing around with me. I'm supposed to start a gig on Tuesday. I get a phone call on Friday saying that they "couldn't negotiate" my rate.

@Moshe All I'm doing is having a passive aggressive war against a stupid contest tonight.

6:41 AM
Tell me last minute that I'm not getting what I thought I was, very nice.

@Moshe Zuh?

Yea, they blamed it on tax forms and their profit margins.

Kind of lame.

It's a 4-5 week gig and only a 5 dollar per hour difference.
But that's still obnoxious enough for me to realize that I have better things to do with my time.
@mootinator yep.

Hehe. My first real dev job only paid $14/hr.

6:43 AM
@mootinator Wow. Is that USD or CAD? :P

CAD. :P
So like $10 USD at the time.

Eek.

It got me out of tech support where I didn't want to really be and into software though.

That's good.

@Moshe My immediate thought is that it would be a lot of work to ensure that graph is accurate across several sizes of shirt.

6:46 AM
@mootinator The description says they account for that.
@mootinator What would you say about the recruiters, btw?

Oh geez, it does O_o.
@Moshe I've never dealt with recruiters. Sounds a lot shady though.

I know.

I have written software sans contract where the client "changed their mind" at the last minute... That's never fun.

@mootinator I haven't signed anything yet, but they want me to.
I haven't agreed to do anything but go in on Tuesday and get acquainted with the place.
I've done an interview there.
And then the recruiters changed the price on me.
Not nice, and I'm not biting.

7:01 AM
@mootinator Classic bait and switch, it seems.

Yup.

I was definitely qualified. They didn't make me do interview questions.

The best places to work are difficult to get in to.

@mootinator Hrm... I dunno, the iOS market seems to be open for the taking. Looks like people who don't code are trying to capitalize by getting the middle of the coders and employers.

Ha.
Incidentally, I saw an Amazon review of Spolsky's book awhile ago that made me laugh: "While written in 2007, I found it to very relevant to today's recruiting of programmers."
2007 was apparently a long time ago in the world of recruiting to this person.

3 hours later…
10:13 AM
@mootinator lol

5 hours later…
2:59 PM
plz to be resolving this tragedy.

3:38 PM

Nicely done, @balpha and/or @MarcGravell :P

balpha has unfrozen this room.
@TimStone <_<
>_>

Thanks.
@balpha You know what you or someone else did! :O

if it's related to this you can probably blame me :)

Yeah. :)
