So apparently yearling gets awarded repeatedly. Yay me.

@drachenstern Hooray!
For someone who hardly ever carries around money, I sure have a lot of singles. I wonder how that happened.

@TimStone yeap. Did you ever fix that thing?

Depends on which thing we're talking about. :P

on skype
can anyone recommend some kid friendly web comics? age range 8-11
my nephew saw the emo kid one above

@drachenstern Heh, I somehow am still not sure which one you're referring to. Maybe I have too many outstanding "to-fix" things.
Hmmm..

1:32 AM
that could be a problem indeed
skype hasn't caught up yet or I would repaste it on skype

shakes fist at Skype

4 hours later…
5:50 AM
all sites except SO and Meta.SO are now pulling from the CDN
let me know if you notice anything weird

3 hours later…
8:22 AM
@drachenstern abominable.cc
It's not targeted at kids specifically, and contains some death and sadness, but as far as I have read it, it's very sweet, no excessive violence etc.
Also very nice: The Ride Home

9:27 AM
@balpha looks good to me, and fast!
Goodness gracious

2 hours later…
11:37 AM
@drachenstern and also wormworldsaga.com

@TimStone but... it's the world's #1 solution for sending teh codez!
You know fully well how much of the world economy depends on the sending of teh codez.

12:43 PM
shakes fist at C#
So all I wanted was some sort of no-fuss program for Windows like espeak, that just used the already available text-to-speech libraries to read Welbog's Gaming profile out loud for me
For short enough text, the Windows control panel is more than enough, but obviously it's Welbog we're talking about
I turned to the interwebs, but it turns out TTS is so awesome all web demos truncate input too soon
I looked at Windows programs, but everything I knew about and/or could find was just too much. The closest match was TTSApp from Microsoft, but it comes as part of some speech SDK I don't need.
Indeed, I decided to just use the VS 2010 express C# license I have to make something up on the spot, and came up with this horrible espeak-alike
namespace BraindeadTextToSpeech
{
    class Program
    {
        static void Main(string[] args)
        {
            SpeechSynthesizer speak = new SpeechSynthesizer();
            StringBuilder input = new StringBuilder();
            if (args.Length > 0)
            {
                foreach (string arg in args)
                {
                    input.Append(arg);
                    input.Append(" ");
                }
            }
            else
            {
                string nextline;
It's a console app for crying out loud, but it works.
(Well I haven't really tested the args input method, as I can't find how to start an app with a given command line.)
However.
Since this is Microsoft we're talking about, Console.ReadLine() is smart enough to enforce a lenght limit on the text input no one asked to put in place.
So when I tried to copy paste text in the thing, I saw the input was getting arbitrarily truncated, and I had to copy paste every chunk manually.
T_T
I could've used Console.Readkey, but since the Windows dumb terminal is dumb, I figure that if the Append method takes enough time, it'll result in keys being lost to the lag demons.
Microsoft (and not I) clearly sucks.

Everyone ready for rapture?

@TylerChacha Already had, seems rather uneventful, except for that bloody mosquito I failed to kill

In the next hour and 30 minutes I will have BlizzCon tickets

4:21 PM

4:43 PM
@TylerChacha What's the point? Rapture. Sheesh.

@mootinator I feel getting Blizzcon tickets will assure my entry into heaven

Heh :)

@mootinator Our Earthquake is 50 minutes overdue now. Some prophet that guy is.

Rude.

Yeah. Punctuality is an important virtue.

5:08 PM
so, Blizzcon sold out pretty much instantly..
I'm 923, and there is 71% of stock left

Yikes

235 and 58%
My dad is 2883 and 58%
lucky I'm buying him a ticket..

By the change in stock it should get to ~ 3000 in the queue.
Before stock runs out :)
Yeah, I wouldn't chance it.
So is Blizzard doing something cool these days? I was kind of meh on the last WoW expansion.

I have secured my tickets

Q: What would it take to have IE6 included in the rapture?

EliHaving to code JavaScript against IE6 (and some other versions for that matter) are really a pain. What would it take to have IE6 included in today's rapture and make the lives of web developers everywhere better? Please help, I obviously need to get this done today.

Do moderator election ever happen if a site is in beta?

@Pearsonartphoto Yes, when the site goes out of beta. Normally. The team decides.

Ahh, IC.

7:28 PM
For me in the flagged posts page the flag counter matches the upvote counter rather then the actual amount of flags
Is this just me going mad?

@Raynos I'd be able to tell you if Gaming had flagged posts right now.

@badpssockpuppet should I flag some.
I'm sure I can find something offensive
@mootinator apparently theyve bee working on this new game

Q: Flagged post count reflects upvotes count instead.

Raynos Notice how the blue box telling you how many flagged posts there has the same number as the amount of upvotes. If you go to that comment and upvote it, the number increases. This particular image is from stackoverflow itself.

oy!
Time to start chatting here :P
Not too much activity on meta this week-end. I need activity :P

9:55 PM
It is rather quiet in here.

I see...
There was a lot of bar in the chat preview though :P

Well, usually things are a bit more active than this. I guess people have been using their weekends more productively lately, heh.

Hum, you mean we need a girl?

@TimStone Preparations for The Rapture, mayhaps?

@Mvy I'm debating on how to interpret this response. :P

10:05 PM
go on please :D

@GeorgeMarian Ah, of course, of course. @YiJiang never gave us any warning though, so if it's sweeping around the globe I'm going to be very disappointed in him.

10:35 PM
Hey @TimStone, I've been pointed to one of your script at : stackapps.com/questions/2378/comment-link-autoprettifier
But I can't figure out what to do with the .js?
OH another script stated : Any browser that can install UserScripts.

It's a userscript. You can find installation instructions for various browsers here.

Ya! Thx!
Oh yes
the so called greasemonkey

No problem, enjoy :)

Firefox really need on the fly addons install :P

@GeorgeMarian It seems that the CDC has one-upped them by preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse.

10:45 PM
Funny :P How to make people aware with some fun :P

11:02 PM
You are raising flags :D

@TimStone lol
That's what it takes to get people's attention these days?

Different Tim. And looking at the post in question, I will be staying as far away from that discussion as possible. :P

Oh yes my bad
:S
oh 178 rep roday

11:51 PM
I think I'll be adding Bob Ross to my list of things to watch online when I need to improve my mood. I think I may even learn a little something about painting, too.
