5:46 AM
I've been getting logged out with some frequency lately. Any idea what may be the cause?

6:01 AM
[status-no-repro] :)

chat? SO main site? what?
The single sign-on wossit went out quite recently; presumably it is tied into that?

@MarcGravell Just now it was chat only, but I've had it go ape on me across the board a couple times recently.

well, chat uses the parent site as a fallback login, so if you had to click login again, that means you were logged out of the parent site.

It may be something with my new internet connection, as I have seen some odd behavior from a few sites, though generally speaking it's been fine. Plus, I had been logged out from both SE sites (and maybe So) & chat from a friend's house.

6:09 AM
Or was it simply you got a few "you have to be logged in to talk" messages?

Just recently it was the "you have to be logged in to talk."
When I was, apparently, logged in, as I could see my avatar. :)

well, your avatar is put there when the page first loads. If you become logged out after that the avatar will still be there, but the ajax won't be you.

@MarcGravell Yeah, that makes sense. Could it be related to JavaScript hiccups on my end?

6:28 AM
without a repro script, very hard to say

@MarcGravell LOL!

@Marc, it hasn't been chat-related but fyi-ish, but there have been more than a few times where I will be logged in on the parent site (can refresh, can view my activity, can view mod stuff), but trying the same on a linked meta won't work (and even the auto-login won't kick in until I go to the login page).

that is probably best fed back on meta itself - not sure I can help with that

Oh, it wasn't for [support], in reference to

howdy folks
shouldn't we be logged in automatically when already in a StackExchange site and go to other one?
I dont get auto login :(
anymore
:'(

"nahhhh... you should always use the original url that was assigned to you!"

Q: I want my bounty back!

user141661This is really starting to annoy me. I really needed a question answered. I offered all of my reputation and got a lot of answers. The thing is though no body could answer it. Everybody was wrong. The cause of the problem was some sort of freak server issue which was entirely remedied when I sw...

@balpha (I believe) In the transcript, the rollover for the different 'activity blocks' doesn't work unless you're on the right hand side - I suspect on the right of the block containing the times. In FF3.6.9.
Very nice feature, btw

activity block rollover?

yep, confirmed

The times are on the left for me and I don't see anything happening on rollover in firefox 3.6.9 and chrome 7. what's supposed to happen? :o

@rchern yep, the feature got disabled very recently
I guess that's because balpha is working on it

Hmm. Seemed like Benjol was indicating at least some functionality

1:01 PM
@rchern Up until a few minutes ago, hovering on the activity graph on the right highlighted activity blocks of ~300 messages
like, 00-20, 20-22, 22-00
clicking on each period brings you to the transcript for just those hours
the period choice was replicated at the very top of the transcript page under the form of buttons a la recent activity
(The sectioning wasn't done on the current day's transcript. When the feature comes back, it'll be on yesterday's transcript.)

oh. well why didn't you say today sooner
i see it on yesterday in chrome 7

@rchern ...because I don't see it yet

cool feature. i'll hold off on feature requests for now >_>

whatwhatwhat?
I didn't disable anything

oh, right, it isn't enabled for low activity room like, uh, this one

1:07 PM
and it was not just firefox
it's fixed now

yeah, it was not just firefox

it isn't on today's transcript?

except for the the time labels themselves, you can't click those -- since they should be above the highlighting
@rchern it's only when the transcript is paged

Oh. I saw it on yesterday's for this room. But I was initially trying it on today's and couldn't figure out what was wrong hehe.
So being able to click an individual bar is planned?

no
just isn't very pretty at the top and bottom

1:11 PM
ooh i meant on the right

yeah, you can now click by hour

I think I'm utterly confused and have whiplash from this conversation...

If you want, @rchern, I can try and explain it to you and only make it even more confusing

hehe

@balpha Sorry, I should have said 'only tried on ffx'
Of course, on the hour-by-hour version, if you have less activity than the width of your label, you can't select it ;)

1:27 PM
Well, you'll only get that version if a) you force it (and why would you) or b) there are enough messages :)

Broadcast events are multiplied by number of rooms you're in. Will investigate.

11:29 PM
Bug report: the mobile menu links to other rooms do not have ?mobile=1 at the end of their urls
This means that if you are not using those precious few mobiles blessed by you switching rooms.really is no fun
please appreciate the minute I spent trying to tap at the very end of the url box and fix this asap :)
now to go back to gaming. sigh
