just don't say "opera mini", because having some server run the JS to populate the page, but you then have to refresh the page over and over again to get new messages -- that's not considered "working" ;)

I can proudly announce that I've finally found a workaround for the bug in opera that was causing all the shaking. No more seizures for you big-O lovers!

does it work? Opera Mobile 9 doesn't event let me comment on SO, not to mention using the chat (basically, it hates AJAX).

Opera Mobile 10 works okay. It shakes a bit if you're not on full screen mode but everything works.

You can get the Opera Mobile 10 emulator and test for yourself...

Even the full version actually works, it takes a minute to load on my mobile however.

turbo on can't poll -- so you'll have to keep refreshing to see new messages

yeah, I think it is, somehow they managed to have polling work through it

unless Opera Mobile downloads the js from the Turbo channel and executes it locally

I'd have to check with opera mini proper...

if it doesn't work on the iPhone then that must be it.

Wanted them removed to have a clean start for the chat room, but I have temporarily solved that by moving them to the Garbage chat room.

Gotta go drive home, you probably want to look into the Garbage room (removing it?) and the problem (not being able to clean messages?) but the problem I had was solved by moving them away... Although I don't know if a Garbage room is a good idea for that issue. xD

we currently allow room owners to move messages somewhere else -- that's quite some difference to deletion

What if you implement deleted messages to get removed to some kind of garbage channel only diamond users can see?

No, it's only in your own created channels.
