4:00 PM
there is, but I was planning for today before lockdown #3 was starting :') They shut down unis (which don't start for a week), which means my plane back south is kinda at risk :blobsweat:

Oof :(

Need to know what happens there before thursday, so it kinda takes priority

Though to be fair I wouldn't want to be on a plane if it wasn't absolutely necessary

@Tinkeringbell I didn't check, but did you suspend my bot?

The other transport options aren't feasible

4:01 PM
@AnnZen Not yet, it hasn't returned to annoy us yet.
It's still kicked from the room at this stage, I think.

Yup
OK, script is in place.

@Zoethe1337Princess :( And staying in place isn't either? (i'm not sure if 'they shut down unis' means you need to go home or ...)

It's over a day by car, or a few hours by car to get to the train, which then ends up complicating stuff more because the airport bus is probably not gonna be an option
Just means digital lectures

Yeah, taking a car to get to a train or bus is the same risk I wouldn't want to take. (which is kinda stupid in hindsight, because when this whole thing started I was like 'Oh, if it's really important I can come to this meeting by train, I'll just have to disinfect my hands ...)
Welcome to the herd to me, I guess XD

@Tinkeringbell I would've removed it if I was there, sorry :)

4:05 PM
Pro-tip: When developing a bot, don't let it roam loose before it's solidly tested!
;)

I'm personally in no risk groups, so the worst that can happen is that I get put in quarantine for a few days. Probably gonna get it asymptomatically too

@Zoethe1337Princess Fingers crossed it's not even that before you get a jab.

@Tinkeringbell You mean never? :')
There's 3.2 million people in the vaccine queue
I'm not one of them

Eventually they'll have to give you one, probably?

People between 18 and 45 with no risk factors aren't in the queue

Not at all, for eternity?
That's weird.

/shrug
I have no clue
People under 18 aren't in the queue either, but that's because it's only approved for adults

4:08 PM
I mean I know I'm not getting mine anytime soon either, but I do hope I get one some day!
On the other hand, once I have my own place isolating shouldn't be a problem anymore either... I could just not get one and never have to go back to an office!

Doesn't really matter, though. Last I checked, immunity starts wearing off after 5-7 months, and at the current rate of vaccination, they'll have to re-check the december batch in June/July. At the current rate though, they're not being nearly efficient enough
And that's disregarding the low vaccine availability
@ShadowWizardisVaccinating All wins come at a cost :p

Hmm. I hadn't heard the wearing off part yet, other than 'we don't know that yet'.
That would suck and be a real problem then, yeah.

We're getting 40000 vaccines per week
we need 6.4 million
160 weeks?

It's Sunday, I'm not feeling like doing that kind of math :P

yeah, which is 3 years
give or take

4:12 PM
Yeah that's too slow then...

Ngl, that's pretty ridiculous alone :')
that's only during the startup phase though. I hope whoever the vaccine provider is again is building up their production capacity

Yeah...
Though it seems they might never be able to make enough to vaccinate the entire world population twice a year :|

@Zoethe1337Princess vaccinating all?

Even then, I don't think we've done the first 15000 we got
@QueenieGoldstein No, that's the queue
give or take +-20000
* 2 xd
the entire population would need 10.6 million
(5.3M people, 2 shots per person)
@Tinkeringbell Not if they keep their vaccine production centralized
If they decentralize it, there might be a chance, but /shrug

My country has 1370M...
We expect around 100000 a day. We had a dry run today

4:16 PM
the only country doing it right atm is Israel
Everyone else is stagnating
And the only reason Iceland is that high is because they're tiny xd

I think over here they haven't even started yet.
They'll start Thursday?
Don't know with what group either. At first it would be people like my mom, working in at home care. Now it's probably going to be hospital people?

Healthcare personnel weren't on the list here

I think over here, they can't get the Pfizer one to elderly care homes, which was supposed to be the first group.
Because of how cold it has to be stored.

Then the british strain started appearing (11 confirmed cases ATM) as well as christmas boosting the cases (we're almost on par with the second wave), so they decided that it was now necessary to prioritize healthcare xd
Realistically, healthcare should be the #1 priority in all scenarios
Hospital shutdown is arguably going to have worse consequences than deaths directly from covid. Healthcare has saved people who had covid and went critical, who would've died otherwise
They also finally set a time for the press conference xd

@Zoethe1337Princess We had 20, 4 days ago...xD

4:27 PM
But I still feel that our government is going about it completely wrong, but that's a semi-combustible discussion, soooo :')

5:02 PM
Woop, the press conference is starting

5:19 PM
@Tinkeringbell thanks
How does @KennyBOT know which users are bots?
@ShadowWizardisVaccinating Is the number sequence "912393" in your script?

5:50 PM
@AnnZen no, script is off, closed the browser. Why?

6:04 PM
@Zoethe1337Princess well...
We're going to run out of vaccines, and people got only the first out of two "doses". Without the second dose, the vaccine isn't fully effective.

6:32 PM
yeah, but the second dose has to be taken after 3 weeks
That's still lots of time for getting more vaccines

7:08 PM
just for scale, AFAIK, we have 20000 vaccines
We've used 2000 of them
and we're getting 40000 next week x d
they estimate enough for 5 million people within 9 months though
which beats the 160 weeks at no rate increase xd

:D
anyway
The pfeizer vaccine isn't a part of the program meant to help poor countries, though. Storing it at low temps were also mentioned to be a challenge

@Zoe Yeah, most poor countries in Africa will be given the AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine, which can be stored at a temperature that does not need super-cold freezers or whatever ;)
