I'm ... actually trying to not wear the fancy ones anymore, until I have new shoes. My current shoes are giving off colour and I don't want stains in my expensive socks!

@Tinkeringbell All of mine are black tennis socks and I don't care, so some days I wear matching ones and most days I don't, but the only difference is the brand: Nike, Pierre Cardin, Caterpillar, No brand, ...

Once upon a time once looked for a matching pair really early in the morning without waking up my then girl friend (in the dark) and during lunch time one of my customers (female of course) asked me:

Do you realize you have one dark green and one dark red sock on?

My immediate response: Yeah! Cool pair, eh? I have another pair like that at home!

Only the Sales Director got the joke...
