@ShadowWizard that is because of the old population doesn't like change. I read about a survey, where the younger people disliked trump, and trump won in rural places, with lots of older-aged population. These people don't want change, changes like mixed cultures, mixed ethnicities, immigrants getting/doing better jobs etc
India is itself going through same change, where there are metropolitan cities, with more libertarian views, more love marriages, more religious freedom/tolerance. While, there are places in India, where you'll still see honour killings (when people having love affairs are killed, a book of particular religion doesn't say that its right)
There are political parties/leaders (example Trump?), who successfully take advantage of these people with old tradition mindset, that are opposed of change. But, this leaves the society in a large communal divide (racism).
Also, older people don't like change, because their mind is wired in a certain tradition. They are not wired for change. Like, the seniors in my diploma college were very upset, when ragging was made illegal, since they were subjected to it by their seniors, but weren't able to do it to their juniors
While younger generation is wired with change, they are more likely to adapt to changing cultures, traditions and societies, but older generation will always want to have the traditions saved, in which they were born and brought up.
woah....that was very long...and I can still write more. I should read less :/
@M.A.R. nah, my 4 y/o son also want to hold the baby, but he's afraid he'll hurt her (he said it himself) so he's not doing it a lot. So you didn't want to hold your baby brother when he was born? ;)
@DroidDev you mean bring back the old world, with slavery and all? Makes sense, in a way.
I won't be surprised a bit if Trump will bring the slavery back, officially this time.
@ShadowWizard umm...not upto slavery, but upto white dominated areas, as the older generation (that voted for trump), is from that era, when USA was dominated by whites
this is the basis of my argument. The generation will always like the traditions, in which it was born. Like I am brought up in era of change. Lots of things changed while I was growing up, so I am ok with change. But, we still envy children getting ipods and say when we were their age, we used to play outside
@ShadowWizard yeah, see, that's the example of how we don't (somehow) like the change, but we are ok with it. Older generations were brought up in stricter rules and were taught to follow traditions like an army soldier. So, they were sure to vote for trump, when he said he will make america great again
his "Great america" is equals to, an america, where whites will dominate all the influential positions, and other "inferior" races will be below them. That was the great america of 70s-80s
@ShadowWizard cool, hope to see her kicking, running soon ^_^
@DroidDev really? Well, I don't really know about this part of USA history. So far Trump focus the hatred against Muslims, but I'm 1000% sure he will do it to others as well, from black people through Jews, women and much more. Until only white males will have tons of money and comfort.
