I've gone down at like 70-80. Didn't measure, sadly, as I was a kid, and didn't have the equipment, but I was going considerably faster than the cars driving in 50 km/h.
@ZoestandswithUkraine I'd do that, but I don't have a bike here. Neither a helmet. Or, well, ski helmet, but I don't wanna risk breaking it. Also, I'm not trained on bikes. Been many years.
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack Then how come I made a typo in one of my messages right now?
I might be wrong. But I do remember going considerably faster than the cars driving in 50 km/h. I tried doing it at the same speed some years later, but I couldn't dare it. It's a dangerous road, I had more sense in my head, my physical form was much worse, and I had barely biked lately.
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack Come to Norway; Zoe will teach you. :)
@ZoestandswithUkraine Aw, sad thing. You missed out on the fun part. I'll summon you over to help me move my stuff when I get a new apartment. I have a sofa to move. :D
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack Only if they're in the form of muscles this time, and not as fat. Can't say I've made any progress there. It's kinda nice to have less to carry around.
@ZoestandswithUkraine Grab the opportunity! Make sure to bring the bike, though... I hate it when I fall on skis, my skis fall off, and I slide all the way down a steep hill. It's so unpleasant to walk back up in alpine ski shoes...
@Andreasdetestscensorship Well, I must have... I've fallen on gravel roads several times, and that can only have happened on the bike. Weird.
Also, interestingly, I had lived here for around 2.5 years at the time it happened, but the day I happened to find a loose doggo was the day after my sister had found a different loose doggo elsewhere. Absurd coincidence
> Om mulig, prøv å få tak i hunden og ta vare på den til eier dukker opp. Dersom du har noe du kan bruke som bånd kan du gjerne gå rundt i funn området med hunden, da eier antageligvis leter etter hunden sin. Kontakt politiet på 02800 og oppgi hvor hunden befinner seg, og eventuelt bli satt i kontakt med Falck som kan ta vare på hunden til eier blir funnet
Google translate (because I can't be arsed to manually translate) for context for everyone else:
> If possible, try to get hold of the dog and take care of it until the owner shows up. If you have something you can use as a leash, you are welcome to walk around the discovery area with the dog, as the owner is probably looking for their dog. Contact the police on 02800 and state where the dog is, and possibly get in touch with Falck, who can look after the dog until the owner is found
I also have an issue with the resource pack I'm using not having been updated since 1.14... And now I somewhat rely on the newer standard textures, which don't blend too nicely with the 128-bit texture pack I prefer. There's lots of downloads for newer versions of this pack, for every Minecraft version, but they're all trojan horses.
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack Kenny is trying to tell you something...
Also, Minecraft is a lag hell for me. 15 fps + constant lag spikes of death.
Task manager shows Minecraft using around 60% of the CPU and GPU. I think they're just throttled due to the heat. Could be a good idea to open the computer, and add some new cooling paste...
Not a fan of taking the computer apart. It's fragile, while certain parts are so tight that I risk breaking it entirely.
Laptop life.
Probably gonna have a stationary computer next time.
Also, it's a very annoying that Minecraft's using the grass block as its icon today; that's the launcher's icon. It's supposed to use the crafting table for the game.
The thing is, I made a well-informed choice at the time I bought this computer. A stationary one was out of the picture, and I picked the best laptop I could find at the time. My biggest concern was the heating issue, as the space inside a laptop is limited.
But I do miss features of stationary ones, and my life situation has changed now, so a stationary is a viable choice today.
@Andreasdetestscensorship Acer's website says RTX 3070 laptop GPU. Can't find the 1070 version because it's not sold anymore, but I strongly doubt they'd redesign it for a different type of GPU
So it doesn't matter how much you point out about laptops being worse. I was getting a laptop, and it was that simple.
It's 5 years old now.
@ZoestandswithUkraine The repair shop already spent 15 000 NOK once, replacing the entire motherboard. Not my fault it broke. They broke my screen when I got it back. Fucking worst repair shop I've ever had to deal with. They were rude, too.
When I finally got it back, I'd been without the computer for 2 months, so I just gave up trying to have the screen fixed, which is a part of the computer that they broke.
