Actually, campaign's main motive was to get the independence that everyone deserves and stop unwanted moral policing by religious groups, which are usually politically driven in India

@ShadowWizard well...India is old country and those kind of people still exist and unfortunately still have lot of power lying in there hands. Plus, literacy is also a big issue. That's why, they won't move on, because, their leaders are mostly people who never went to schools in their life and just want the world to work their way.

Just google "Khap Panchayats in India" and you'll come across the kind of backmindedness those people have....

They are not at all institutional bodies, but, because of local support, even institutional bodies can't do anything
