So I'm at a cliff in the 5 or 6th screen of Mukashi Mukashi Arutokoro ni Totetsumonaku Naka no Warui Twintail no Shimai Himesama ga Irasshaimashitatosa, and I can't figure out a way past it.
I've provided a screenshot:
I've tried standing on top of the pollen from the mushrooms but that is to...
Jin is ready to start working on your logo so we need to finalize the site name choice.
The top-voted choice, quicksave.com, is not for sale. The only viable candidate is "Pause for Help" (pauseforhelp.com), which we are currently holding.
If anyone has any awesome, last-minute brainstorming su...
What I don't like about pauseforhelp is that it really isn't gaming related. A troubled programmer can pause coding for help on StackOverflow, for example.
ThatOneLevel.com has a stronger gaming feeling.
but to be honest, "Pause for help" is literally what i do when I need answers on games as I play. I pause with "Start" button or "P" key on a computer.
To be honest, so long as we don't have a name like that, @java, we should just not get any name
> No response on Infinite Lives. And everyone--absolutely everyone--that I market-tested "That One Level" on hated it. So I went with this communities highest voted choice, "Pause for Help." I has hoping to hear some better suggestions here. We should be able to do better. – Robert Cartaino♦ 4 mins ago
My litmus test is I imagine myself having a conversation with someone in which I'm trying to convince them to go to the site for help. If I can say something like "Dude, like, you should totally go post your question on <name>. Radical!" without the name being too out of place, that's good.

@tzenes True, but bonus points if you can leave off the TLD and still make sense. And even then, names that are three or four word phrases tend to break the conversational flow.
@grace cuts to the core of it: the site itself does a good enough job of saying 'come here for help' - the name of the site needs to say 'come here for games'
Hmm.... I guess not every programming language has the concept of a stack overflow in the daily practice of the language... so in a way Stackoverflow itself isn't terribly inclusive of all languages.
I think throwncontroller is a fun title that encompasses what we're about. If we end up getting PC fanboys who complain over semantics, they're probably not people we would be able to help anyway :P
I'd agree that keyboards/mice can include controllers. I've definitely played pc games before and ended up frustrated enough I wanted to hurl my poor logitech mouse out the window.
I really like Thrown Controllers.
I realize it doesn't feel exceptionally inclusive to PC gaming, but it does convey video games in general (where as thrown keyboards does not), and frusteration, the need for help. And given our large base of PC games *cough*Stracraft*cough*, I think its fair t...
Okay, I'm looking at the shorter term victory here, @badp :P Especially considering Jeff expressed his doubt about how well the site would succeed at the beginning. I think so far we've at least met, if not exceeded, expectations. :)
That doesn't mean we should get lax, but I think it's something we can all be proud of. :)
Okay, I am off to go out for the night and eventually imbibe large amounts of alcohol and such, so I will speak to all you fine people another day. Good luck domainhunting!
I dusted off the old Commedore 64 a little while ago and found some old save games for Pools of Darkness. All of the games were at basically the same place. The final set of fights in the game.
Each of the parties I had and different make ups to them, but I remembered that I couldn't ever man...
