Welcome Michael. This is a site for issues relating to the Stackexchange network of Q&A sites and your question is off-topic here. It is also not at all clear what you're asking as you've hardly given any details. Please see our complete list of sites, make your choice and ensure to take the tour and read-up in the help centre of your chosen site before posting. — W.O. 6 secs ago
Yes, I would guess you’re being served a cached version of the page from inside your computer or perhaps your ISP or some proxy or CDN based on whatever headers Chrome is sending. Try all the suggestions out there about forcing pages to load without caching. I don’t see anything on our side that indicates any site was read only at any point today, and certainly this wouldn’t happen for only one browser and not another. — Aaron Bertrand 53 secs ago

Saves me having to post about relevant results. IIRC, under the old search I might search for a keyword combination that actually had no relevant results; rather than be told that, I'd get a load of irrelevant results to sift through - possibly related to additional tags on questions I had answered. — QHarr 21 secs ago

Hi Danielle Belaich Scott, welcome to the Stack Exchange Network Meta site! I'm not sure which search brought you here but the problem you describe will not be answered on this specific site. To get an expert's answer for the topic of your question you'll have to find and then re-post on the proper site. I'd also add this isn't really a question of the form that would work well on any site - its probably worth spending a little time looking at the help and tour, as well as questions and answers on sites you're interested in. — Journeyman Geek just now

Yeah nobody would go around creating profiles at various sites unless they were actively looking for jobs. So this will rule out a whole lot of candidates, namely those who aren't actively looking, but may be interested in job offers still. Missing the whole point of SO integration indeed. — Lundin 39 secs ago
9:28 AM
That was quite the rollercoaster, going from "Awesome!" to "... so it's basically just an ad for an unpleasant job search site" 😅 . As much as the new title is better, it would probably make more sense to just call it was it is "Launching a new ad for indeed". — David Mulder 22 secs ago
Not my experience. I once ended up advertising jobs at SO without even knowing it, the employment agency had some sort of online advertising package and so the advert ended up on SO as part of that, without me as the recruit/SO user/part of team even being aware. Then of course SO Jobs had godawful candidate matching, so it was pretty useless. "We can see that you are an embedded systems C programming in Sweden, so how about moving to Germany, learning German and then starting up a career in web development with Java?" Err... I'll pass. — Lundin 39 secs ago
9:39 AM
Unlike someone who has Java in their CV because they took a beginner class at one point. If the recruiter has a technical background themselves, it is very easy to see through "Java programming experience" during an interview. And you will get completely oblivious candidates now and then, especially if recruiting fresh-out-of-school. — Lundin 22 secs ago
Rep might not be very relevant but what tags you visit might be. A linked SO profile might save the recruiter from all the "Fizz Buzz" complete incompetence filter work. If someone has made hundreds of posts below the Java tag, they can't be completely oblivious to Java programming. -> — Lundin 41 secs ago

Why assume the users who closed your question are ill-intended? As I currently understand the scope of SO, your question is indeed not about a specific programming question, even though the subject is very closely related. So maybe those uses applied the same judgement and closed the question because they considered it wasn't appropriate on SO, rather than being simply malicious? Additionally, I would suggest you post on Meta.SO if you want more information from the community on why this question was closed, or even if the general consensus is that it should be closed at all. — Laf just now

Does this answer your question? The Stack Exchange reputation system: What's working? What's not? — Karl Knechtel 17 secs ago
I think the issue is most users do not vote for questions, nor answers. I know I rarely do, even when the topic is helpful. The entire voting system should be replaced by LLMs that rate pages useful based on metrics like visits per day. — ZeroPhase 7 secs ago
Perhaps you wanted to link to the actual query rather than to window where the query can be edited? Or maybe to a specific revision of this query. — Martin 54 secs ago

@Marco There is always the possibility that some error happened during submission and it never actually got anywhere? Have you considered trying again? — Aaron Bertrand 25 secs ago
@Marco I still don't know, I'm not in support and don't have visibility into that ticketing system or how long responses usually take or what they consider an emergency or any details about your specific ticket. I was merely postulating about why some responses may come faster than others. — Aaron Bertrand 1 min ago
@AaronBertrand OK thanks. I didn't consider submitting again, but I think it would be easier if some staff who is able to see the tickets see this post and check to see if my submission arrived. But what I can say is that when I sent it I received a confirmation message that the form was sent. — Marco 57 secs ago
I do not have advice on this particular query - but perhaps for purposes of experimentation it is reasonable to try the query on a smaller site first - and only later on SO, if you see that you have query that runs well on a smaller site. You can use things like Country or tag name as parameters, so that you can easily change them - for example, such as here. — Martin 47 secs ago
5:14 PM
BTW you could also have a look at the queries suggested previously for this purpose: How do I get the highest posters for a certain tag in a specific country? and Query for getting top users on a specific tag by country sorted by tag score (Stack Overflow). — Martin 1 min ago

@VLAZ, in your image with the error, it looks like it was still uploading to imgur at the time. Now that we've finished rollout to all sites, you should be able to "upload" an sstatic image. But by which we mean, just immediately return that same URL because there's no sense in uploading it twice. But it should work without error now. — KyleMit ♦ 45 secs ago
@starball there is an index on tags for tag_name and is used in a seek, so I don't think that will gain us much. — rene 27 secs ago

In addition to creating useful features that add value for users, bringing in more resources that allow us to reinvest in the community, is absolutely one of our goals for partnerships like this one. With more resources we hope to be able to better prioritize feature requests and other improvement asks that come from the community. — Sasha ♦ 7 secs ago
We know that left navigation space is a hot commodity, and we are open to conversations about the best way to utilize it. In this case, we thought it was important to link SO Jobs in a very prominent location on sites because we are testing the potential of this feature, which means giving it a strong chance to be engaged with by many users. The old SO Jobs was also linked from the left navigation so we thought it was a logical choice for this experiment as well. — Sasha ♦ 15 secs ago

I've seen that tactic help quite often, it's not so much about the seek itself, but simplifying the query so SQL Server doesn't have to work that into its optimization. Sometimes it opens up additional optimization choices, sometimes it just gives it more time to evaluate multiple options, and the worst that happens is you end up with the same plan - but sometimes, it leads to a better one. If it's essentially going to be a constant (the same for every row), it can be helpful to treat it like one. — Aaron Bertrand 17 secs ago

Our developer was not able to reproduce this in laptop or mobile browsers (safari, chrome, and firefox on my iPhone). What they did was first upvote a post, then edit the post, then save the edits. "Moderators can have sock puppet accounts (as can anyone) provided their accounts do not interact." One common exception to this (as you've phrased it) is that moderators' sockpuppet accounts are often used as targets when testing moderation actions, in order to avoid disruptively testing it on a real account. Mine has been suspended 5 times and received 11 mod messages, all from me while testing things. — Ryan M 34 secs ago

That's weird, the duplicate target doesn't mention the effect of an edit (as far as I can see, but...). OP - I should point out that if you vote on a question/answer, then after a short time (~5 minutes) your vote is locked - until and unless the post gets edited, whereupon you can change your vote. — W.O. 6 secs ago
Consider - you'd have to win an election first, by convincing a lot of people that you'll be a good moderator. — Criggie 6 secs ago
@W.O. see "Exception two: you may remove your vote after every time the post is edited (excluding grace period edits). If you cast a new vote after removing a vote under this exception, that new vote will have a new 5-minute window and will work exactly as above." — bobble 28 secs ago
