@cocomac My broader question is: "A deleted answer solved my issue, and I'd like to give a bounty to it - what should I do?" — Timur Shtatland 43 secs ago

I perform quite a bit of reviewing on SE, and I have noticed this issue as well. If memory serves correctly, this was working correctly until somewhat recently (perhaps 2-3 months ago?), and then stopped working consistently. — End Anti-Semitic Hate just now

Hi FAISAL AHMED, welcome to the Stack Exchange Network Meta site! I'm not sure which search brought you here but the problem you describe will not be answered on this specific site. To get an expert's answer for the topic of your question you'll have to find and then re-post on the proper site. Check How do I ask a good question and What is on topic on the target site to make sure your post is in good shape. Your question is definitely off-topic on Meta and is better deleted here. — Journeyman Geek 41 secs ago

@starball It will be deleted anyways, with or without mentioning any specific user; and very likely I will also get some suspension, but you know, to my best belief, still that is the right thing to do. — peterh 29 secs ago

"It looks the major guys of the site network do not want such a switch." this is extremely preposterous assumption not based in reality. There is absolutely no such thing going on and it is rather insulting to all moderators and staff to even think that some users could be targeted on purpose, let alone saying it. — Resistance Is Futile 20 secs ago

If you have any concerns about mod actions you are free to utilize the Contact Us button to notify staff. But if you decide to do that, I strongly suggest that you voice your concerns without directly accusing moderators of intentionally targeting specific users. — Resistance Is Futile 44 secs ago

I'm as surprised as the next guy that one of the highest-rep users on Stack Overflow would resort to rule-breaking, but if you're going to allege some kind of grand conspiracy to stop Jon Skeet's rep total from being surpassed, you're going to need to provide a lot more evidence. Even your logic seems flimsy - "the system" doesn't want VonC surpassing Jon Skeet why exactly?F1Krazy just now

Another possibility: decline the flag, verbally warn the user, do nothing with the message. This may be useful in cases where things have gotten heated, but the responding moderator feels it can be de-escalated, and deleting messages would make the resulting discussion make no sense. — Ryan M 13 secs ago

You better start a discussion on Meta Stack Overflow asking why that answer was deleted, if you really want to know. Be prepared for LOTS of downvotes and angry approach, but you'll at least know and perhaps understand what's going on. — Shadow Wizard Love Zelda 49 secs ago

@AaronBertrand The source you have provided doesn't explain how to share really long code lines. It kinda just says to shorten the code myself using different methods. — KNVCSG 1 min ago

@KNVCSG Not sure I understand what you mean. Code fences can scroll to the right, but it’s easier for people to help you if you can avoid forcing them to scroll, so if you’re using long variable names or string constants, shorten them. Just like you would if you were trying to share them internally, you’d generally try avoiding horizontal scrolling if you can. Can you share a specific example where code has lines so long you think you need an image? — Aaron Bertrand 21 secs ago

@PM2Ring Hypotheses: (a) Somebody somewhere was misinformed at some point. (a.1) The people working on this have never encountered a Cloudflare false positive, so aren't familiar with its failure modes. (b) There's a special way of configuring Cloudflare that doesn't have these issues, which isn't documented anywhere on Cloudflare's site. (b.1) It is documented, and I can't read. — wizzwizz4 38 secs ago

Its harder for someone to debug off an image, sometimes people try your code and copy pasting makes it easier. Other times its an accessibility thing - either because people are visually impaired, or have other issues. Images don't expand as well as text. You can't search text in an image either. — Journeyman Geek 42 secs ago
