@Emilie SEDE doesn't have an API so it is hard to get things off it automatically and then feed it into a room.
@Emilie what might work is building on the Stack API.
@Emilie just to give me an idea about what questions you like to find: is this query a good example: data.stackexchange.com/graphicdesign/query/1108662 ?

6:56 PM
@rene Well that<s definitely outside of my expertise but that query looks promising :) Maybe we could just run it now and then and see what needs cleaning up
I'm a total SQL noOb... if I wanted to add other strings, how would I syntax that?
Our community puts so much effort in answering these questions and their titles tend to be really non-descriptive

7:24 PM
@Emilie try this one, you can provide parameters for body and title: data.stackexchange.com/graphicdesign/query/…

@rene Is it possible to add more than one term?
like "effect OR look"
I'm familiar with the search terms used in Google/library but not sure they apply here

hmm, yes. In the body of the question, right?

I don't mind messing in the code itself :)
Well I'm mostly targeting titles, but I don't know if titles have more value than body content for searching
like if someone is looking to make a particular effect and searching on Google, will they be more likely to land on GDSE because of a title match or a body match

@Emilie this is the easiest I think: data.stackexchange.com/graphicdesign/query/…
@Emilie I don't remember if I linked you to the tutorial earlier: data.stackexchange.com/tutorial it is a bit hidden in the SEDE Help page.

@rene Well now you did :) I had seen it before and I tried making my own queries in the past but most of the time I can find something else to fork and tweak

7:39 PM
if you know how to fork and tweak, you're good.

Do you happen to know if it's possible to get a look at the evolution of some parameters?
I know someone used to have a site up, where they downloaded the dump regularly
and ran some comparisons
it was outside SE and I believe it's down

To some extent you can do analysis over time in SEDE, if the site isn't too big (as in: not Stack Overflow)
things like this are possible:
5
A: Query for the usage of a tag over time

reneThe following query shows the number of questions with specific tags across all sites in the SE network. -- start create url from dbname IF OBJECT_ID ( '#siteurl', 'P' ) IS NOT NULL DROP PROCEDURE #siteurl; GO create procedure #siteurl @dbname nvarchar(250), @res nvarchar(250) OUT ...

The most important difference between a self-hosted data-dump and SEDE is that on SEDE the query needs to run to completion within 2 minutes.
And using the data-dump allows for things like lexical analysis of the all the text of the posts.
If you have a specific parameter you want to have plotted, feel free to drop it here or post a question on MSE to get some more eyes on it. I do know @glorfindel and @Martin take these requests as well.

Not sure I could tweak that last query haha

lol, yeah that is a bit of a scary one I admit ...

Thank you so much :) I don't have anything in mind currently. In terms of my own community, I think I can see most of the stuff I'm curious about in our analytics but that other site allowed to look at other communities
so it was fun to compare
stuff like % of closed questions

7:56 PM
that is doable as that is just a count over posts.

@rene Ah! I had to dig to find the site again but I got it and it seems back up ^^

here is that closed percentage query between two sites: data.stackexchange.com/graphicdesign/query/1108836

8:11 PM
@rene O_o
That was quick lol I didn't even expect a query, but I've bookmarked it and will put it to use :)

you're welcome

@rene I'm trying to find the first query you did but it seems updated
figured if I share the query that lets you enter parameters, it shows as empty for others

8:28 PM
@Emilie which link did you share? I iterated quickly from version to version to improve on it based on your feedback.

the very first one

so it did get updated rather quickly

with the terms included inside the query
@rene I've been clicking like a mad woman and can't find a trace of it anywhere lol

@rene yes!
thank you :)

8:33 PM
yw

nice

running it on photo.SE, their questions look more descriptive
I've got a bunch of questions that have almost the same titles in that list

dupe hammer all the thingz ... ;)

@rene Haha! Well after users go through the hassle of making screenshots for the OP and everything
I don't dare x)
