I don't understand Ubuntu's naming scheme for the PHP packages, but am I to believe that the blog server is running PHP 5.2.6 by the way? 'Cause if so, some sysadmin should totally update that.
@Zypher I understand. I started signing all of my work e-mails "Hugs and kisses" instead of "Thanks." No one has complained yet. That, or no one reads my e-mails.
Completely impractical. Very poor workflow design. Presenting reviews one at a time is just too slow a process. If there really are 58.1k 'close' votes pending, nobody is ever going to get to them all.
You need to present 20/50/100 to a page so people can pick their areas of expertise, and proba...
Well done, it looks really good and it will help a lot of people, I'm sure. However, I personally like the old review system. It's more familiar to me and, especially with suggested edits, lets me browse an entire page of results to quickly find things I can easily act on. I personally don't like...
@RebeccaChernoff Maybe one day. Not likely, but...we can dream. So uh, ignoring...that thing that didn't actually happen where I said one thing that wasn't entirely true...if you could update the site at some point I'd appreciate it. :P
@animuson I'm a much bigger fan of your version. And now that you point it out, there is nothing constructive in that answer that hasn't already been mentioned in other answers (by you and Manish) =) So I don't feel bad about downvoting.
@Flexo Haha, that's exactly what I was thinking. I also tried to do the "improve" + "not helpful" thing, but it just submitted a separate edit (because others had already approved while I sat on the page, contemplating the Universe).
On June 29, 2012 Jeff Atwood wrote a blog about PHP which a lot of people saw as another language bashing blog. Whether it is or not is not really my concern with this question but, more so, the aftermath. Many replies¹ (mostly counter-rants) were written and a great bit of this talk gets fi...
Actually, I've been much less active on Physics.SE lately. Chem moderation, MSO, hanging around in TL (AKA The Tavern on steroids), and indian chat mod keeps me occupied these days (along with programming)
Still active in chat/community building, but I'm posting much less
@minitech I think someone might have flagged that comment along with the rest in that answer and one of the other moderators saw it at the same time as Robert was deleting the answer. I'd chalk it up to a race condition, rather than anything malicious.
@minitech Actually, now that I look at it, I think Robert started to work the comment flags, then saw the answer was bad and just cut it off at the source. Again, no offense intended.
@kmote: As far as I know, not even moderators can do that. Delevopers can, but they do so rarely. If there's something you must have deleted (e.g., if accidentally posted sensitive information), you can send an email to request deletion. — Dennis4 hours ago
Since we can't check ourselves: @Shog9: Do you know if the question ban message has been changed to point there, or does it still point to the meta post?
@acarter flag it, always flag it. Also, it was deleted, so I assume it felt into the crap category (don't migrate crap and all that)

@animuson Perhaps when I get home. I don't think the rest of the office would appreciate me getting us an IP-ban.

@ManishEarthwantsmorewaffles He deleted it himself. "Options for migration don't include webapps, so I will just delete this question and re-ask it." He has now re-asked it on Web Applications.
So, I feel a bit silly asking this, but I can't find anything in the docs. I have one fiddle under my [Public Fiddles], and several under [Dashboard].
How do I move a fiddle from [Dashboard] to [Public Fiddles]?
@ManishEarthwantsmorewaffles I think that deleting and cross-posting is okay sometimes.
Generally, in the rare case of an accidental posting; or if it's immediately and authoritatively pointed out that you're in the wrong place, and there exists a better place. I figure why make the mods spend time on it.
