@hichris123 I am not active on the iOS project anymore. I'm technically still working on the quality project, but there's not a whole lot of ML work going on there at the moment, so I'm working on other things

user259867
Was it ever explained what feeds Triage now?

9:09 PM
Surprises you find when reading through the SQLite code. Somebody must've received a lot of calls. http://t.co/1yTAvYLHMx
@Woodface I thought it was just the quality algorithms...

For context: the suspension handed out with that comment was for one day. The user worked his way to a one-year suspension just yesterday.

Dammit. I have commented on his rant and now he's asking me unrelated questions. meta.stackexchange.com/questions/251282/…

@Woodface Registered question as false positive and added title to Bayesian doctype 'good'.

I give up.
I have an 89k user telling me that their question shouldn't be closed, just because other off-site resource request questions were not closed either.

Time to close those?

Q: Is there any API/database of phone models based on carriers?

mederIs there any API or database which can provide specific model phones based on carrier? For example, if I wanted to look up Samsung Galaxy S4 I can get different models from Verizon to AT&T to no-carrier ( original ). Doesn't have to be every phone under the sun, just the most popular ones from...

I don't get the upvote, though

There's an upvote?

one more cv needed

oh - then a -1.
hadn't noticed that.

uh... my -1 came out first, I believe...

Wonder if we can talk that user into cv'ing the two questions they posted as examples :)

Is there a distinction between "What API should I use" (which could mean what function should I use) vs. the obvious "where can I find an api..." that is a no-brainer?

18 hours ago, by Doorknob
Happy premature 3/14/15 9:26 UTC time!

9:40 PM
Some of those questions feel like the OP is asking about a framework that they are unfamiliar with, and hence just need to know what function within the framework does what they need.
The last link... is a clear case of off-site rec.

edit if you think a question is salvageable

@JanDvorak think it's worthwhile to get meder in here?

yes!!!

hi

Trying to figure out what to do about some of those links you posted.

so yeah - let me close the ones i linked to
or see if they're close-able

Some of the clearly cross the line.

Other ones Might be salvagable.

9:47 PM
@HoboSapiens are you sure?

I think that's spam.. with just a link to wooup
Closed by mod.

@LynnCrumbling we do?

Anyway - back to meder's list.

@LynnCrumbling gone

The last one's been closed.

9:48 PM
cv'd all of them already

@meder Reading over the others, some ask about whether there's a class within the framework.
Others say class in the framework, or some other API.

@JanDvorak Yes - the link just goes to some rambling web page. It's academic now - it's been deleted by a moderator

@meder nobody here blindly closes questions -- when a cv request is posted, and the question could be salvaged or is arguably not closable, it does end up resulting in a discussion.. not just a follow-the-leader mentality...

and another one's gone, another one's gone, another one bites the dust

@meder but don't hesitate to pop in here and add a cv req... you might find yourself sticking around more than you like :)

the "macro" part of that is ok...
the word library is, of course, the scary part.
(macros are used in NSIS and many come with it.. that could easily mean "which macro that ships with NSIS can I use")
But I'm having a hard time with the word library.

@Frank grace edit that forgot to delete?

@JanDvorak idt so.

Wow...

would be one dumb edit even if it was, repeating the same sentence 5 times
anyone would know better than that.

It would imply that they found the edit link.. but not the delete link right beside it.

Anyone want 10 more rec-tools?

@LynnCrumbling seen that

Only a few of your last batch actually got closed. Most stalled around 2-3 votes.

folks, I bumped a bunch of "looking for" questions into java/off-topic. Would appreciate your help in reviewing these. I know it's a big tag and crowded close reason, not really convenient, but couldn't figure better way. At least, you can recognise "my" stuff by only checking question titles :)

Traffic to SE sites launched in the last 6 months:
ja.SO 4.6k
Lifehacks 1.2k
Emacs 1.1k
Vi/Vim 300
Economics 220
Engineering 200
History of S&M 121
Music Fans 58
Coffee 57

HAHAH. Poor Coffee.

11:13 PM
Vi/Vim is unacceptably lower than Emacs. >:O

@Doorknob way

user259867
It's much newer, though: 1 month vs 6 months.

True.

@Doorknob I was just about to make a slick comment about how (once and for all), we know what the "better" editor is..... (JOE!)

user259867
My point was mostly that LH (3 months old) leads if the special project ja.SO is excluded.

11:14 PM
@Woodface Was this a reply to me?
(Coffee = 1mo?)

@LynnCrumbling Vi/Vim is 6 times younger, but it has only ~4 times less traffic than Emacs. :D

Or was this the vi vs emacs thing?

user259867
Coffee = 2mo; vi and music fans = 1m

Ah, ok.
I'll be curious if coffee takes off.

I pasted it into the Tavern chat box because I was trying to copy it back after editing it in Vim, and accidentally hit enter out of instinct :P

:)
@Frank can you add that link in the review close to the list of cv-rec's?

what... was it?

@hichris123 it was my $PATH
Nothing that really has to be kept secret, actually :P

@Doorknob Better watch out—now you could be a victim of a dependency injection attack.

11:21 PM
@AlexisKing But isn't it obvious that, say, /usr/bin is pretty much guaranteed to be in $PATH anyway?

@Doorknob The thing I linked to isn't exactly completely serious. ;)

Heh, I know; I've seen it before :D

@LynnCrumbling what link?

@LynnCrumbling but I can't edit old messages.

11:23 PM
Any libs or anything to generate a quality score for some text input, like "qoeirhgoeirhg" and "Clk here pls!" and "UR SDUPID" are bad and "I'll be curious if coffee takes off." and "(at)Frank can you add that link in the review close to the list of cv-rec's?" and stuff are good?
Don't care which language, I'm going to rewrite it anyway.

@Frank Nah.. but if you end up doing a mass-dump to tavern again, just append that to the end..

@LynnCrumbling sure... why?

A user just dumped a bunch of questions in there from java that all start with "Looking for"...
Each and every one that starts with that is easily identifiable as an off-site rec

Each bigram earns the score equal to the reciprocal of the frequency. Average the scores. Decide on the threshold for passing, or just report on some scale 0-100.
