I'll be on the answer list then....

Hmm, do view counts get reset on migrated questions?
I'm pulling together a list of questions with the highest vote count : views ratio, but a few are coming up above 1
May need to get rid of migrated questions from my query...

@josilber possibly

All the ones with that weird ratio were migrated from meta.se
Hmm, am confused by this one -- not migrated, but many more votes than views.
The post history only has entries for "Initial Title", "Initial Body", and "Initial Tags"

maybe merged?

7:23 PM
I'd doubt it, becuase then I would have gotten either a merge source or merge destination in the post history
Well, I guess I'll do some reading and post on meta if I can't figure it out
I've found some posts where people were like "3 upvotes but only one view???" and the answer was caching. This clearly seems to be something else.

I agree on that. The timeline doesn't reveal much either
@SmokeDetector fpu-

Could have been special handling of election-related posts?
I will check if I can reproduce this on the main site or on a different meta site

We know it was migrated from MSE to MSO but as that post is over 60 days old the migration stub is removed?

I don't see any indication that meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/299969/… was migrated
When did meta.so start?

april 2014
relevant for views on migrated questions: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/50147/…

7:37 PM
Aha, so it must have been migrated with no message

yep

Awesome, the mystery is solved
I couldn't find any other similar questions on the main or meta sites for SO, SU, SF, or mathematics.
Thanks also for that link -- that definitely confirms what I suspected about reset view counts for migrated questions.

I asked Jon about that meta post, maybe his mod tools reveals more...

Cool :)
It's one of a kind!
Sadly, if we posted about it on meta then it would get viewed many times, and it's coolness would dissipate. It's in a weird quantum state right now, as the only question without a migration notice and with more votes than views.

weird, Jon claims the elections were after the split so that post never existed on MSE.

7:48 PM
huh
so any insights on the vote/view mismatch?

Jon couldn't find any record on the timeline of that post indication migration. We expect DB magic

Hmm, so perhaps I should post about it on meta =)

@josilber there was a mso/mse link fixing script so maybe there was also a script for special posts.

Hmm, so the election posts were somehow different on the backend?

7:57 PM
@josilber original question on MSE is: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/221594/… (deleted last July by Anna)
Judging from the revisions, something weird was going on in there.

Ah, so it was migrated. So this is the less weird case -- post was migrated and no migration banner was added on meta.so.
Thanks @Shadow -- I can't view 10k stuff on meta.se

@josilber no, no indication of migration in there too.

weird

Looks like some magic CM tool was used
@Shog9 probably knows...

8:00 PM
Anyway, here are the last revisions:
Maybe @Anna tried to migrate and failed, since it already exists on MSO

@josilber votes 308+ / -1

"I disagree with this election"
Ah, that's the MSE count?

Yep

On meta.so it's +311 / -1
Cool
so it's collected 3 upvotes post-migration

@ShadowWizard migrate 221594 --no-audit-trail
@josilber if you want to know viewcount .... hold your breath...

the power of templates - make once, use many times, then debug everywhere

There are templates and then there are templates.

and then there is jQuery.

Grasshopper, when you use JQuery to write an optimizing compiler that generates machine language for a general-purpose programming language, then you may leave the the manicured cloister that shelters you from reality — but not before.

@BoltClock'saUnicorn yeah, when I saw that comment, it definitely raised red flags, especially when I took a look at where that user was from (same as the other).

user163250
Was there more than one upvote on the SO main answer?

user163250
The timing of events...down to the minute...also immediately raised red flags.

user163250
Oh just one upvote, I see now.
