@animuson Haha, though back in the days of punchcard programming it seems that you only got to write your code once. If there was a mistake during punching or a mistake in your code, that was it. No second chances (or if there were second chances, you have to do the whole process all over again).
Note the it seems, heard this from my dad

Eh...
I hear dropping your cards could be disastrous.

I've started downvoting things before I vote to delete them, in an effort to prevent them keeping the reputation for it. O.O
Join the revolution!

@animuson Only worth the effort for old stuff, < 60 days, all rep is deleted with it.

Q: How should I earn 15 reputations?

LynMysTar2012The system requires at least 15 reputations in order to vote. But I think it's too difficult to earn just 15 reputations.

@animuson Why is there not a facepalm close option?

1:58 AM
@TimYiJiang Hey, it paid off, got 40 rep since the post already.

Why is that question not CW if it has 27 answers? o.o I thought it auto-converted at 20?

@animuson I think it's 30

Frequented tags? Interesting o.o
Never knew that feature existed

2:55 AM
@animuson Basically, it automatically creates favourite tags for you if you use the site for long enough

Has the "broken links" tab in the review panel been pushed out to all sites across the network?

@animuson It's not on SO yet
Also, you do realize that referrals coming from within the Stack Exchange network don't count for the badges?

@TimYiJiang: They were talking about a bug where users who click on them and have the referrer header hidden still count.
So I figured since I noticed it I would just remove it while I was there.

6:18 AM
@animuson Re your edit here, just FYI: intra-network referrals aren't counted, so having you referral ID attached to a link in an answer by Jeff won't give you an unfair advantage.

@balpha: Read my comment two lines up ^

reading is overrated...

We definitely needed a screenshot of that. :)

# Publicity badges are being awarded for links within the network

The referral links for the Announcer, Booster and Publicist badges [aren't supposed to credit you for links shared on Stack Exchange itself](http://meta.stackoverflow.com/a/114608/134300), only for visits that come from outside the network. However, I've recently been awarded two unexpected [Announcer badges on meta](http://meta.stackoverflow.com/badges/74/announcer?userid=134300) and I suspect they came from intra-network sharing.

@Szabolcs Normally you can see the source via "improve this answer". But, in this case, the post is locked--so even registered users can't see it.
@Szabolcs Use the 'link' button to find the post id, then go to site.stackexchange.com/posts/<postid>/revisions. Then use the view-source on the revision
Or, just ask around at The Tavern, which you did :)

Q: Merge chat.SE chat.SO and chat.meta.SO into one network-wide chat

awoodlandCurrently there are at least three independent instances of chat running on the SE network: http://chat.stackoverflow.com http://chat.stackexchange.com http://chat.meta.stackoverflow.com On chat.SE I have a list of favourites rooms from the lower traffic sites I'm interested in. At least that is what it looks like to me...

@amanaPlanaCAnalPAnaMA I agree although judging from the comments/answers on yours it seems that the merge bit got lost in the "but there are only three"

@TimManishEarth Thanks for the idea!

2:05 PM
@amanaPlanaCAnalPAnaMA the replies yours got seemed to mostly be about the other SE sites and not address the "one chat to rule them all" idea

@awoodland I know and I got majorly downvoted (well not major, but -4)....
But your is still a duplicate...

Do you want to edit yours perhaps to make the "one chat to rule them all" bit clearer and I can bounty it? Or see what happens with the dupe close on mine?
@RebeccaChernoff's "with the exception of Stack Overflow (because it is so much larger) and Meta Stack Overflow (because the unicorns here are special and demanding)" doesn't quite cut it as an answer for me either way

@awoodland neither did it for me, thats why I ddnt select it..

closing as exact dupe won't reject a migration will it?

@awoodland What do u mean?

@amanaPlanaCAnalPAnaMA if you close a migrated question under certain conditions it causes the migration to be rejected and returned to the original site
but I can never remember what those conditions are

hmmm neither do I

Any guesses as to what this person is tacking .ToString() to the end of?
@mootinator - the table definition is definitely "BLOB" and I'm trying to access that column. I can access it by using .ToString() and it outputs System.Byte[] so I know most definitely that it is a byte[] and it is accessible, just confused as to why it won't let me access it as a byte[]. Is there maybe something wrong with the .GetBytes() method? — Chris Jones 20 mins ago

Kevin Montrosestatus-completed... sort of. It's now possible to reject a migration, but rather than making this some special mod-only thing or yet another privilege/task you have to familiarize yourself with, it's instead a function of closing/deleting. Someday, we may actually have too many little specialized SE sites. On that day, I will be totally dismissive, because people have cried wolf about the issue so many dang times already. Same goes for "SO has failed," "SO has collapsed under the weight of all the newbies," "you can't get good answers on SO anymore" and "all the experts have fled the site."
Don't mind the link, I just wanted to make it easier for myself to find that comment later when I inevitably need to use it again.

Thanks for costing me time, @Pop, I clicked it, now I have to read the entire post :(

By having to track down the chat message in order to find the link again? Why not just favorite the question?

@DanielFischer To quote casperOne, "this is a situation you have to choose to disengage from."
@animuson Because you can't annotate favorites, and I have 162 of them.
I'm more likely to remember to search for "cried wolf" said by "Popular Demand" in "The Tavern."

I'm amused that the author of this question is worried about the great programmers fleeing Stack Overflow.

I was wondering how the average speed on 476 was 0 mph...apparently a vehicle fire has shut down all southbound lanes.

10:08 PM
Aw. I was going to vote for "crazy guy trying to escape the cops tearing up the wrong side of the highway, with numerous police vehicles in pursuit, also on the wrong side of the road."

I think I saw that yesterday, there were six state trooper cars behind a vehicle that was being pulled onto a rollback.
Though to be fair, the car at the time was pointing in the right direction, so...probably not on the wrong side of the road.

All lanes? What did someone start their car on fire in the middle of the road?

Hey, that's not what "rollback" usually means in this room. Well done!
@animuson I've been caught in a similar backup. It happens.
Now I wonder if the average speed on a road has ever been negative, not counting things like contraflowing for natural disaster evacuation.

I did see someone doing about 35 in reverse on the way home yesterday once things started to slow down.
Because obviously it's preferable to drive backwards up the highway to get off at the previous exit instead of just waiting a few minutes until you reach the next one.
@animuson Kind of seems like it. I'd shake my fist and say that they should just push it into the nearby river and be done with it, but I guess if someone was injured that'd make me a terrible person.

Wow. I've seen people dangerously cut across multiple lanes to make an exit, but never actual backing up. Although now that I put it that way, the backing up actually seems less bad, as long as it was on the shoulder and not a travel lane.

10:23 PM
Thankfully it was in the shoulder, yeah
Hmm, I can see where they're forcing people to get off, but I can't actually see the car that's on fire.

...are you on the road now, or just checking traffic cameras?

Checking the traffic cameras
Apparently someone at PennDot is now using the camera to zoom in on the scene
Oh, there you go, there's an emergency vehicle going the wrong way.

It's no fun if it's on a road where traffic is already stopped.

Ah, apparently it was a tractor trailer fire.
