Hi, excuse me, my profile seems to have been messed up, how would I go about getting it fixed?

Well my profile was Pyrodante on SO but it changed to Shaun Brasington, I lost my gravatar, I lost some rep a badge and my attachement to SO chat so I cant talk in the room I mod for

I was trying to post in Area 51, I was logged in but they said I couldnt post anon, so I logged out and logged back in and my rep went from 51 to 1 and my SO profile was borked

@Pyrodante I would post on meta with all of the relevant information. Or, you can e-mail "team@stackoverflow.com"

I managed to switch my SO Profile back to Pyrodante, but it is still dis-attached from my gravatar and chat, my other SE accounts appear unaffected.

I tried while back to email that account, but seems it's overflooded or what :D

Wonders if there is some official distinction between when you should just post support requests on meta, and when you should e-mail team@stackoverflow...hmmm

It's like a year, I've been banned from posting questions on Meta, I fully understand how it came so

But then one thing got my attention

Somebody pointed out, that Up/down-voting in here on Meta, is not used to measure how good the question is

but more likely to show others dis/agree with question itself

Why is there a possibility to got ban, when up/down votes, are not used in way they should be used?

Problem: My account has lost its attachment to Gravatar on SO, lost rep and a badge on SO, lost rep and activity on Area 51, lost privileges in chat rooms I belong to in SO Chat. What occurred: I was logged in to SO, and SO Chat as Pyrodante, a member of the chat linked an article on Area 51, so...

@MarekSebera I think it definitely should be automatic (in general), and is working properly in most cases. I just worry about it's effectiveness on meta.

@Kevin It's possible (although I think only a dev / SE employee could confirm how frequently people are auto-question-banned on meta).

I was just trying to fix a closed post and your rejection reasons are exactly backwards of what was going on. I wasn't replying to a post by editing, I was removing a reply to a post by editing. I wasn't defacing, I was trying to remove a defacement.

@Caleb It is incredibly unlikely that either one of those users will see this message unless you somehow bring them in here to look at it.

@PopularDemand Um ... ya .. so as a mod on another site I'm used to having super-user ping privileges across the chat network and that format would have pinged them. Apparently they don't extend to meta.

Yeah, I thought so. You only get the super-ping on your home site.

If there is a local mod I think an edit/save will do the job on that ... if not nevermind. I'm not going to waste time trying to hunt them down.

@PopularDemand Actually chat mod privs are network wide, I can super-ping on other sites that I'm not a mod on. Maybe it's only 2.0 sites and not the trilogy, or maybe meta is different.

Ah, my mistake then. As a non-mod I only know what I pick up from other people's conversations about mod powers, and sometimes I get confused.

Hm, I'm usually happy to edit any post regardless of whether it's closed, but this one looks like it just needs to hit the delete pile.

Most mod privs are just for home site, but chat is it's own realm and actually all site mods are mods across the whole range of sites. (Which is why flagging things in any chat room on the network will get things taken care of in seconds ... every mod online gets pinged!)

But you're right, that question will be none the worse for hitting the delete pile.

I was just annoyed that high rep users would do such a cursory job reviewing suggestions ... even if it doesn't salvage the question it was a good Samaritan effort to help a struggling OP ... and the reject reasons were straight up backwards.

@Caleb Aren't those canned reject reasons?

@jadarnel27 Yes they are canned. My whole point in raising the issue is that somebody is clicking canned response buttons too fast without even properly reviewing the actions being taken.

I hate the fact that you can get a badge merely by clicking fast; there are no ill consequences whatsoever if you just randomly approve or reject edits.

Technically, you don't have to read to get Copy Editor. In practice, you'd get banned way before you reached 500 or even 80.
