@timstone Have you reported the API 1.0 failure on Stack Apps yet?

@devs Would flags with a custom message of "off topic; belongs on Foo The Bar" (literally; not using an actual site name) show up in the 10k queue?

11:58 AM
@Cleanupcareerdevelopment I think the belongs on regex is stricter than that

Q: Is typing out a canned flag reason equivalent to selecting it?

lunboksIf I type out a pre-existing flag reason in the it needs ♦ moderator attention → other field, does it behave as if I had cast that type of flag? For example: If I flag an answer and type out "not an answer" in the reason field, is it treated as a normal NAA flag (e.g., shown to 10k+ ...

(I think a public list of the things that match to show to 10k users would be useful, but I'm not sure I want to ask a list of Q on meta...)

wow I think I just found a user with 57(!) spam answers which have slipped under the radar so far

1:54 PM
it gets worse too - there's rather a lot of accounts that look like sockpuppets

@YiJiangsProble_ I didn't, only because I figured the response would be "Well, you should be upgrading anyway"

Q: Page not found when signing up for StackOverflow using sound Captcha

oseI was registering for a stack overflow account and encountered a problem. I was using a sound captcha. No account was created when I submitted the form, but I was able to (obviously) create an account using the text captcha.

This is talking about the SE OpenID, not actually for creating a SO account, right?

4:49 PM
@awoodland looks like they've been handled now

5:18 PM
o/

5:54 PM
20-30 min? How will I cope?

6:21 PM
@awoodland Apparently quite well, as it doesn't seem to have actually ever gone offline. :P

6:35 PM
Oh, now it has. That was a bit misleading.

I guess chat doesn't need the DB

chat is on the other side of the country (:

I WAS JUST ABOUT TO SAY THAT!
:P

twitter search for "stackoverflow" during maintenance is always fun
Oh noes, StackOverflow is down and now I have to actually read docs.

6:39 PM
hyperventilates SO offline I ... breathe ... help

Ah, since this is the perfect excuse to be lazy and not check myself, are either of the Town Hall Chats next week definitively scheduled yet, @RebeccaChernoff?
@TheUnicornWhisperer I blame @mootinator for opening the portal to hell.

Monday 9pm EST and Tuesday 5pm EST.

Awesome, thanks!

StackOverflow is down for 30 mins. Software development halts to a grind worldwide.

6:44 PM
funny my productivity seems to go up

@TimStone Talking about the Ask Ubuntu moderator elections?
Mine remains on the same level since the chat is still up.

Not yet, programmers and sci-fi this week.

and the new tweetdeck is such fail
search columns in seesmic don't seem to update ):

Oh. I'm going to nominate myself for the AU ones.

@TheUnicornWhisperer You can log out of chat. You won't be able to log back in. Win! :)

6:46 PM
huh, those went in the other order (:

I'd make a backwards joke, but I don't like being predictable.

someone go make me a decent twitter client while SE is down q:

@balpha I did not complain about my productivity being low. :D

My productivity is extremely low, but that isn't caused by SE, it just fills the void. :P
Right now though, I think I'll go play games instead.

7:07 PM
#StackOverflow is done with our database maintenance

Q: PDO SQL Server extension faulting intermittently

Ben BrockaI'm getting intermittent Error 101 connection reset and Error 15 Socket Not Connected from my dev server after switching database drivers. The reason seems to be the PDO Sqlsrv drivers I'm trying to use to connect to a SQL Server 2005 database using the SQL Server 2008 R2 SQL Native Client. My w...

Is this off topic for SO?
It seems like a perfect fit, but it's gotten two close votes for off topic. Server fault isn't for that, is it?

Could be something for
Not sure though, sounds programming related as well so yea.

@BenBrocka It could be something very local that we have no hope of guessing remotely

A: Examples of great Tag Wikis

Pekka's Organic Rep Farm What are some examples of really well done tag Wikis? The Scala one. My goodness. If every wiki looked like that....

It's the official driver for sql server in PHP...how could it be too localized? It's using all latest/recent versions of popular webserver/database software

That tag wiki is AWESOME!

9:26 PM
@TheUnicornWhisperer very nice! I only focus on excerpts on sites I use though...the part people read :)

Q: Vote: Do we want code highlighting?

Bart De VosCurrently, code highlighting is turned off (see balpha's comment here). It is possible to turn it on, if we want so. I think this would be nice to have, maybe on a per-tag basis, but turning it on is definitely the first step. Because it is disabled site-wide, we can't force it by manually spec...

Could someone gig a nudge to one of the dev's? it's been sitting there for quite some time.
@RebeccaChernoff I'm looking at you ;)
Thanks!

we're aware of it.

10:58 PM

@TimStone Man, the portal to hell opened finally and I was busy running errands? Typical.

Indeed. I think it was on a timer delay, they probably should have mentioned that in the manual.

That does explain a lot.

RTFM next time dammit!
It is dangerous not to know what you do when you open the portal to hell ... people can get hurt.

11:12 PM
Safety goggles on, everyone.

You're going to parse HTML using a regex?

hehe
\o/ We're down to 180 flags on SO!
From about 220. :)

@TimStone Each time I run a query with a syntax error, the #error-message's opacity is decreased. This isn't reset each query, so as I have more consecutive errors the error message will eventually become invisible. (I'm directing this at you because it seems minor for a meta post, correct me if you'd rather I do that.)

>_> <_<
Yeah, I guess it would, wouldn't it? I'll patch it up, thanks!
