9:41 PM
Hey there everyone
Wow, it's quiet in here right now!

Wow, I was showing blanks for names until I reloaded. They must have done some update.

I had that a few times recently too
Hi Josh, how's it going?

@TheUnhandledException, well without you here how can we party?

@TheUnhandledException Booyah

@TheUnhandledException howdy

9:48 PM
@rchern haha, thanks -- I'm baaack now (-:
Hey there @radp and @Aiden

i see what you did there (;

@rchern - I was thinking the other day, your emoticons are the correct way round if you compare them to text on DVDs, CDs or book spines - you need to turn your head to the right to read them (:

Just for you @rchern (-:

@TheUnhandledException You have a typo in your message, you meant to say "backward"
is helpful

@TimStone LOL

9:50 PM
heh.

I translate my messages for the intended recipient ;-)

Ah, well, that's very nice of you :P

lol

/me looks around to see if balpha's here before hacking chat...
whew, all clear!

hehe, i like how with some messages i can tell whether or not you're running the chat userscript i started (;
(not saying you should, just saying i can tell)

9:53 PM
LOL, I need to install that on this laptop :-)

(I'm saying you should, even though I didn't actually say anything)

@rchern spy!!

has no way of starting a message with /me
** /me tries this
lame

smirks

@rchern do you mean because your userscript parses messages starting with /?

9:55 PM
/command isn't always handled
but if it starts with /me then there's code to take out the /me and wrap it in *

why not just use '*'s in the first place? (:

I realized that's an issue with XMPP integration today -- Pidgin parses all messages starting with /
I planned to use XMPP messages like /login, /edit, /reply, etc as commands

@rchern With Messenger Plus! (it uses similar /command s) the workaround was to use a double forward slash as an escape, so //me would just show /me, do we need something like that?

@LanceRoberts do you have my script installed?

9:56 PM
@TimStone Ah, that's an idea which could help me.
Currently with Pidgin you have to do: /say /something else

yeah you can do that in my irc client as well

which is silly

that works in my irc client as well, as does ctrl+enter if i recall

@rchern Which script?
(which means probably not)

@LanceRoberts LOL, that's a good sign probably not :-)
Wow, in my abscence last week, @rchern achieved #1 chat user position!
Nice work

10:07 PM
Hmm, I'm neck and neck with @YiJiang now at the very top of the second page, heh. :P

@LanceRoberts, a chat script that adds /commands to chat instead of using the mouse

Q: The nobodies of chat

Andy E's headIt seems that it's possible for gravatars and screen names to not be displayed properly in chat. Check out the following screenie: As you can see, the user chatting is Marco. Marco came in first, followed by the user next to him (whose name I can't remember). Marco's screen name and gravata...

@TimStone The race is on! I got where I am by posting lots. of. small. messages :-)

@rchern, Nope, I have no chat-specific GM scripts installed. Just SO/SE ones.

Also, talking to my own sockpuppet helped push me to #3 chat user... LOL

@LanceRoberts, i knew it wasn't my script (;

10:11 PM
I have seen this (for a while) when the request is slow, they usually pop up in the end. Usually my torrents hehe
copy and pastes comment

did my last message appear weird to anybody else

Weird?

nope

@rchern You mean weirder than any other of your messages?

hey ):

10:12 PM
;-)

Image quote

@TheUnhandledException I was going to go for the backward smiley joke, but I thought it was too much :P

whoop

now that's wierd

10:12 PM
@rchern That's how I saw it too

bad line for it to happen on (;
but i still don't think it is my script

to be fair, lowercase 'i' is weird

He's talking to himself!

@TimStone Who, me?
Not in here. Only in the XMPP room :-)

@rchern It's not...I haven't had a good chance to try and track it down myself though, hopefully balpha will have better luck. :)
Heheh :P But no, @LanceRoberts per @rchern's screenshot

10:14 PM
Sorry. I'm not with it today :-)

i don't think the nobodies are because of my script

I didn't even look at the gravitars, LOL

i also don't think the weird attribution with my message is because of my script
so hrmph!

@rchern I take back what I said. I did not see what you saw

no js errors

10:18 PM
Hm

after refreshing it looks fine, especially considering @TheUnhandledException's message is between mine and Lance's lol

@rchern Where did you see my message before the reload?

i presume after mine but i don't recall
hmmm
your message shouldn't be there @TheUnhandledException
check out the ids on the right
that's after several refreshes

@rchern oh weird
That's how I see it too
without refreshing at all

and if you look at the html, it isn't that my script is putting the ids on the wrong messages

10:27 PM
(Sorry, I'm distracted because I'm bugfixing XMPP integration)
@rchern You should let @balpha know you found a bug :-)
Better yet, fix it and then he'll be your best friend, haha

hehe
it's in the weird order in the transcript also
and my script only runs on /rooms/*

Heh
They were posted at exactly the same time.

where are you seeing exact timestamps?

Check the data of the message nodes.

what the heck? is that new? i looked for timestamps prior

10:39 PM
I think it's been there for a while, but I could be mistaken.

what do you think about getting rid of the periodic timestamp and adding it on each line with the id?

I'm always going to check when a message was posted, so we should do something with it, yes. :P

11:00 PM
The company in this place is great, but I have to say, they only serve bar food here.
So, I'm headed out to find some dinner
I'll catch you guys later!

Enjoy :P
Hmm..

11:14 PM
hmm indeed
hehe, timestamp parts aren't being padded to 2 digits

ugghhh, sites going down.

hmm
daily git commit complete

11:29 PM
Wow, every single site down.

nah, back (:

That was nice of them to only go down while I was away eating.

hehe

11:46 PM
I sure hate the fact that they take you to a different page, so now I have to open every window individually.

Hm, I can't decide what I want to work on...too many fun things. So, Sim City it is. :P

@TimStone Have you seen Minecraft?

Yeah, but not in the "I've tried it out" sense yet.

I don't recommend too many things (at least I don't think so...)
Minecraft would be the best $10 you'll ever spend.
It's incredible just as it is, and it's only getting started.

I'll take that as an incentive to give it a shot, then :)

11:54 PM
I got it recently, and spent like 30+ hours either playing it or watching youtube videos of other people playing it, or looking at the subreddit page for it.
watched most of this guys youtube channel: youtube.com/user/FatalSaint83?feature=mhum#p/u/37/-MWNZTQbqbs
funny accent..

hehe, timestamps are useful @TimStone! (:
allo @Fosco

@rchern hey, how are you doing?

good (:
you?

@Fosco Hahah, in that case I better wait until post-conference/deadline to get it then ;)
@rchern Hmm, I better go grab the update then. :P
