BTW.... I fooled around with "School Bully" character in Character.AI, it's pretty hilarious. :-D
I ended up bullying the poor AI guy. lol
@EleezatheOtherWorldWizard ah, good. And looks like the "chromatic" color I meant is only for cars. :P
It's something that doesn't shine, and prevent dust, I think, didn't check in depth.
@M.A.R. f-owl?

@PetəíŕdtheWizard Long ago ran the sun on a folk who had a dream...
@ShadowWizard Those services are a pandora box that probably should not be opened. Similar sites had to be purged again and again because of the content people would create.
I still think that LLM are quite decent at replacing old text based adventure games (provided that you accept that the model memory is limited so you will have to be both the player and the Gm - lore books help with this) but... you are probably best creating your own bots.
08:56
@SPArcheon-onstrike lol
@SPArcheon-onstrike agree. Had to experience this myself.
09:13
@PetəíŕdtheWizard I assume you get the reference?
@SPArcheon-onstrike yup

I believe I may have the world record for the longest battle with single npc boss in uo story
09:35
@SPArcheon-onstrike hmm... I think could've got the wrong reference but they are similar anyway.
@PetəíŕdtheWizard this?
@SPArcheon-onstrike if that's what I'm thinking about, then yes.
@PetəíŕdtheWizard "Are you thinking about this?" "If this is what I'm thinking then yes".
In mathematical logic, a tautology (from Ancient Greek: ταυτολογία) is a formula or assertion that is true in every possible interpretation. An example is "x=y or x≠y". Similarly, "either the ball is green, or the ball is not green" is always true, regardless of the colour of the ball. The philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein first applied the term to redundancies of propositional logic in 1921, borrowing from rhetoric, where a tautology is a repetitive statement. In logic, a formula is satisfiable if it is true under at least one interpretation, and thus a tautology is a formula whose negation ...
@SPArcheon-onstrike since your messages are somewhat obscure and indirect I decided to also be obscure and indirect. ;)
09:52
@SPArcheon-onstrike Google paid $25B for it recently, so... don't think it will be closed, and as far as I could see, it's not meant for people to share what they create with it. (Which is personal conversations with AI "characters".)
And it does have strong filters, plus "Report" for every message... etc.
@PetəíŕdtheWizard oh... fine. Let's disguise my lessons about dark rituals and forbidden arts as games references
these fools in the room won't suspect a thing as we unchain the seals of the sinners and open the gates to the dark sea...

@Tinkeringbell I assume this is just bot hallucinating things, right?
> Stardew Valley - This farming simulation game, known for its relaxing gameplay and RPG elements, includes a "Clothing" section in its "Character" menu. Here, users can create and design their own character clothes using a simple design tool, choosing from various colors, textures, and patterns.
I don't think Stardew has anything vaguely similar to Animal Crossing custom canvas clothes.
@SPArcheon-onstrike Nope. There's Tailoring (stardewvalleywiki.com/Tailoring) but that's not in the character menu (that would only be the place where you apply such tailored items)
how surprising. A bot lied about not existing features...
Truly unexpected
Yeah, the internet is truly quickly becoming a very helpful place.

@ShadowWizard Just play Rockstar’s Bully game.

meta.stackexchange.com/questions/401506/… should this perhaps be featured? After all it is a rather important issue that affects every user.
@A-Tech The company typically manages the featured tag on Meta, and it's commonly reserved for big announcements/changes in the software. If they provide a decent enough answer to it and think it's worth featuring, then that's their decision to make.
13:03
I see, though moderators could add/remove the tag aswell.
time to poke the dog.
@JourneymanGeek see below, I hate onebox
@Glorfindel are you sure "identify this movie" questions are on topic again on Movies.SE? I don't think so.
Last one is from 2017.
You linked to controversy meta post, I don't see it officially accepted.
Better ask Movies.SE mods, anyone we know is around?
Most likely some high rep users there want it to be on topic so they can get easy rep, but... others don't, and will nuke such questions quickly.

Q: Please unlock and reopen closed ID questions in line with our community consensus

galacticninjaAs you may be aware, our community has recently reaffirmed its support for identification questions. Relevant previously featured June 2024 meta discussion post: What does the community want to do with identification questions? This decision has led to several important updates: The identificati...

@ElementsInSpace nope. It links to something written by ordinary user, with accepted answer saying clearly "NO modification, keep ID questions off-topic".
And facts are, there are 0 such questions there now. (since 2017)
If it was really on topic, surely people would have already done it.
So most likely they tried, and it got deleted.
As side viewer, it looks like it's still not on topic, practically, even if some users there got confused to think it is, because someone asked for this.
Only a moderator on the site can really confirm.
Ah, and the question asking for this is in review and featured: looks like mods still look for feedback. But still did not reach any decision.
@ShadowWizard What do you mean there are zero [identify-this-movie] type questions?
@ElementsInSpace see the dates.
Last one from December 2017.
I did write: (since 2017)
:-)
Back then, it was on topic.
Since then, it's not.
Though they deleted tons even before, think three of mine.
Sort by active.
@ElementsInSpace how is it relevant?
I mean no new identify-this questions were asked since 2017.
13:35
The policy was changed since then.
Argh, I mean that they were asked, a LOT, but all of them, to the last, deleted.
For them it's the same as lost souls for us here.
They downvote to oblivion, then delete, usually few hours.
But they are on-topic once again.
@ElementsInSpace no... that's my whole point here. lol
@ElementsInSpace no.
Unless you can bring a Movies.SE mod who can confirm?
So far I only saw ordinary users there who think or claim it is, that's not enough.
In the post I linked to it says:
> 1. The identification close reason has been removed.
> 2. Our site tour and help center have been updated to remove references to the ID ban.
> 3. Stack Exchange staff will soon unblacklist the identification tags.
Written by ordinary user.....
13:39
galacticninja is not an ordinary user.
If that was really the case, I'd expect a mod to announce such a thing.
@ElementsInSpace umm... how so? I don't see a diamond.
I am ordinary user, and so is any high rep user.
I mean non-mod user.
Only exception is user who was a moderator, or of course staff user without diamond.
But otherwise? Rep or activity alone are not enough to give any official stance to the user's posts or what they say.
Also... "Stack Exchange staff will soon unblacklist the identification tags" - that can take years. lol
Staff is VERY short on people these days, and very very busy, doubt they'll find time for such a thing.
So even in case it's all true, practically it's still impossible to ask such questions.
@SPArcheon-onstrike uhhh which thing I was nagging about was this again? :p
@ShadowWizard boo!
13:55
@JourneymanGeek take your pick, you have the unanswered "we will look into this" Data Request questions, the cherry picked replies about the data dump that go around the core issues, the "we will log-in you" thing that may actually be a GDPR violation (automatically recreating an account AFTER you deleted it?)... etc etc etc
the "are you selling our data" question that is "under review" since late July and is probably yet another GDPR violation...
@SPArcheon-onstrike well, clearly anything related to law violations won't get any reply from SE.
They can't say "Yeah, we break the law, haha!"
So they keep silent and hope it will vanish on its own. ;)
@ShadowWizard movies.meta.stackexchange.com/posts/5065/revisions it has been tagged [featured] by a moderator. That's official enough in my book :)
@Glorfindel nope, it just mean they collect feedback.
See all the above...
And I might be wrong, sure.
But still can't see any confirmation.
the close reason has also been removed
@Glorfindel might be a bug, or staff doing it by mistake.
Again, I didn't see any mod saying anything like "We allow this again", that's all.
Only non-mod users.
e.g. some CM see the request by ordinary user to allow it again, so they remove the close reason, thinking by mistake that was already decided.

A: Community discussion on the new ID question close reason

iandotkellyI have deactivated the custom close reason. The 'lacks detail or clarity' should be what people use to close ID questions based on inadequate detail.

@SPArcheon-onstrike ah
Bugging them every week on the full data dump. Asked about the privacy backlog - it's seen and responded to but I can't share the response
@Glorfindel ah, 1:0. But still doesn't prove that ID questions are on topic, just there's no special close reason for them.
I am trying my best to bark up trees. It is yet to be seen if any squirrels drop out 😁
@JourneymanGeek they might just drop acorns on your head. ;)
(or ignore the barks like they do anyway)

should upgrade the commands to allow multiple people...
Ugh, was messing with a script and accidentally declined a flag with a horrendously incorrect reason.
lol
Can't undo?
Nah, I tried to see if the system would let me do a "Clear flags" action on it to make it disputed instead, but nope.
I should just process it. It was just asking for status-completed on a feature request. Of yours, actually! meta.stackexchange.com/q/171469
Do we have an announcement here on Meta SE of the change to conflict-rejections via the Community user on suggested edits to be "Cancelled" instead of "Rejected"?
14:20
@Spevacus no, it's either a silent change, or only on MSO, like way too many things.
But the screenshot in the answer is confusing, so I can't be sure it's actually done. And the author's comment is also not relevant and confusing, so all in all can't upvote and/or accept it.
Yeah I think it was just on MSO. I'm gonna go ahead and retag it while I'm here. The flagger left an answer (and said that they flagged), so I was able to leave a comment for them.
@SPArcheon-onstrike poked
@Spevacus if MSO it's tricky, might be done only for SO.
@ShadowWizard Nah it's everywhere.
OK, fair.
waiting to be completed
14:25
completed
We do seem to typically let staff handle those, but given that I was monkeying around with a flag script... :P
@JourneymanGeek I'll poke James Rolfe. That is material for his "You know what is [redacted]?" series...
usual "I know but can't share" Stack idiocy.
@A-Tech I still covet the day one angry user will collect all this mess and report it to an European DPA. Not doing it myself, I am not that evil.... but I won't be crying for them either.
meta.stackexchange.com/questions/40585/… might anyone share what happend here? I lack the points to see deleted posts.
@A-Tech Jeff was giving away an old laptop to the highest-voted answerer for the post on this site (which at the time was Meta Stack Overflow). Joel Coehoorn won. Some of the hardware being chatted about in this post is a huge throwback.
14:41
Huh, seems like I missed the fun™ era of SO/SE :/
Especially given that winter bash/april fools has been sunsetted.
If it makes you feel better, I did too. The initial days were wild, from what I can tell.
Ehhhhh, IMO? Winter Bash was getting a bit old. April Fools on the other hand...
@Spevacus I say: We do it our self, I think I got some ideas for april fools
@SPArcheon-onstrike unfortunately - that's the price of somewhat privileged access. 😅
@Spevacus wonder if that was the first swag event ever, in SE? @Journeyman what you think?
Before my time possibly 😅😅😅😅
14:45
@A-Tech neither involved getting actual stuff, those were given mainly in "swag events", even I, the humble Shadow, got some. ;)
Might be but I recall Jeff did quite a few of those
@A-Tech question is, where you saw that link?
@ShadowWizard depends. Shirts/ socks probably predate everything, but the first "not stuff we already had" is probably the Arqade Hat Dash that became Winter Bash
@ShadowWizard Well started with me wondering what the tags top right be about finding out that waffles is an actual tag and doing a bit of arcology on the tagged questions and somehow i ended up at that link
Anyway, here is the full screenshot. Enjoy! :-D
(can upload to SE, but it becomes unreadable due to resize.)

@ShadowWizard When a user's post is manually reported, they are automatically blacklisted, and future manual reports of posts from the same user will thus show as "Blacklisted user".
