@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 I'd actually call it a tempest in a teacup
Mistakes were made due to unfamiliarity with smaller communities, folks brought up issues, they pulled the article to fix it
I mean, there can be improvements but - eh, stuff mostly worked as it should, a few red faces aside

Okay, I'd put that one on a shelf.

Tsunami in a Teacup.

@Tinkeringbell apparently, source. etsy.com/listing/473841340/…
You can hang it on a wall.

Hmmmm... maybe, maybe not.

@JourneymanGeek red is better than blue, yeah. (bruises) :D
Anyway, turns out we have new super spicy pizza here in Israel!
@Rob your turn
Price of 145 NIS is for the new spicy pizza plus one ordinary pizza plus two toppings plus two desserts.
I think pizza alone cost about 70, so it's a nice deal for bunch of hungry people. ;)

poof

@Mithical looks like twitter spammer actually
Those send automated spam messages to anyone following them.
But meh, what's done in Twitter stays in Twitter. :D
abuse of image upload

Is it intended behavior that when looking at an old Reopen review for a question which was ultimately reopened, no "Revision" tab is shown even if there was an edit after closure (and before reopening)? There is simply no indication that an edit was performed before reopening at all. I first noticed it here but then found another instance here
On one hand, it doesn't really matter since the review is done and the question is reopened anyways. On the other hand it confused me, especially since I got to that first review from this question, which has a screenshot with diff showing.

4:06 PM
@bobble By "Revision tab", do you mean along side "Question" and "Answers" above the actual text of the question?
Does the Reopen queue show that for in-progress reviews?

@Dudecoinheringaahing Yes, e.g. see here

Ah, ok. Haven't done (or had) a Reopen review for a while, couldn't remember :)

@Dudecoinheringaahing I don't know where to look for in-progress reviews - neither of the sites where I have that privilege has a Q going through that right now

@Dudecoinheringaahing ...Apparently I have, I guess I just have poor memory :/
@bobble I'd imagine SO probably has a few, but I can't see them :/

It appears to show "Revision", but I don't know what it looks like from a reviewer's perspective

4:14 PM
I can't imagine it'd show Revision for someone who's just observing it and not for a reviewer, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyways, what I was concerned about was the inexplicable disappearance of the Revision tab when the question in question had been reopened
Which is either the completion or invalidation of the review process

@bobble reviewers see this
(also, bad edit comment...)

"bad edit comment" directed at the editor of that question? Or me?

at the editor

sorry, makes more sense

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 Special Mention: "Scorpion Garlic Hot Sauce" - Bake: Walmart (cheap) Great Value Rising Crust Pizza, Supreme, 30.7 oz 9.03 NIS - Walmart (premium) Tombstone Four Meat Frozen Pizza 21.1 oz. 12.51 NIS
Take Out: Giuseppina's Special Pizza 131.97 NIS
So, best not to be lazy; bake your own pizza.
See, my $3 pizza is better than the $50 pizza.

Any UsersScript around which hide tavern image by default ? Only show when click some thing like that.

Porkchat does something like that... but I'm not sure if it's still being maintained.

80 more rep and i don't have to see the "please leave a comment" popup

@Catija iirc development stopped with the 'new' mobile chat view

the chat extension i use has the ability to hide oneboxes by default, but it too isn't being maintained and has a few broken features (that are disableable)
a bigger chat update would ruin it

10:07 PM
@KevinB tbh, that's a big potential pain point of a (long overdue) chat update
@JourneymanGeek On the other hand... if something is really useful, consider building it in?

I think for a potential future chat update, it'd be beneficial to take a look at the features people have added to chat over the years to get an idea of what people wish chat had

Step 1 and 2 - keep starwalls and how we do replies in general

This one for example had a feature that replaced the chatbox with a codemirror editor when you press ctrl+k

The chat improvements userscript is kind of what I'd like chat to look like, aside from the bugs and responsiveness

pasting images into the window auto uploads and posts, similar for dropping,
:sometext: turns into emoji's where applicable

10:09 PM
I'd really like a better keyboard based reply option (I like the colon + up key version), dark view as an option and such
@KevinB Ok.... hear me out here... and this sounds wild
but responses on chat

it's dark themed, with each user getting a unique color that becomes the top border of each message they post

One argument against a chat update is that I actually use the "last seen" indicator here, and recent trends haven't shown much support for that in updates

like, threads?
or making "replies" copy over some of the content from the message it's replying to
one thing i'd hate to see in a chat revamp is a top bar
or, more specifically, a top bar with a "products" menu
the one we get in the mobile view is fine

@Dudecoinheringaahing as a realtime thing... uh, not having a last seen would have interesting arguements
If SE was serious about it, and I'm not convinced its going to be on the roadmap any time soon, I'd probably put in a thread to gather feedback first :D
@KevinB eww
also, I kinda like the fact chat uses the whole page

I quite like the mobile way of showing what rooms you're in. I'm typically in 10+ rooms, and that means my starboard typically only shows 1, maybe 2 things

10:14 PM
I'd like scrolling for the rooms I'm in (my main chat list is long enough to get cropped)

i'd like things in the right bar to be collapsible
as it is i adblock alot of it to make room for starboard
typically view chat on a 19" monitor
or is it 18
1366x768

@KevinB eww.... that rez
@KevinB I sometimes RDP home to access my main account...
my main monitor does the 16 or so main chat chatrooms i have favourited :D
it gets wierd on RDP for some reason

it's just what i'm used to, i could go steal a bigger monitor from an unused cubicle
or find a lightning adaptor so i can use this mac monitor
mac monitor though is super reflective
kinda annoying

10:41 PM
Is it worth posting a formal retag/burninate-request for a tag which has 17 questions?

(1366x768 is a wierd res that shouldn't exist IMO)
@bobble explain :D
It could be "yes" for certain classes of meta tag

is used for: the duplicate closure process, the duplicate closure UI's proposals, discussing the term "duplicate" itself, cross-site duplicates, proposals about duplicate questions, complaints about the scope of a site, and duplicate Area 51 proposals
I'm looking for a tag to use for that last one - duplicate Area 51 proposals/asking for proposals to be merged - to retag questions, but as-is the tag is too broad and not good for my use. A different name would probably be better anyhow since this one is obviously unclear.
No tag excerpt and the last question is from '15

"No tag exerpt"
Bane of my existance.
Pet Peeve.
WHYYYYY?

I think it's just that no one has noticed the tag existed

It dosen't really feel like a meta tag
Buuut

10:50 PM
It's used for both proposals about duplicate questions and duplicate (site) proposals

Ah
So retagging to either would be sensible?
There you go. Sounds like a reasonable retag request...
then see what the community thinks

Yep, that was going to be the retag request.

Also, that it has 15 or a hundred dosen't matter about validity
it matters about how annoying the process will be
and I once spent 3 months retagging something over lunch breaks at work, 3-4 at a time

Should I propose creating a different tag for the questions about duplicate site proposals?
As far as I can tell, no other tag for the concept exists
(Can you even propose the creation of a new tag for retag-requests?)

Retagging is always an option.
