@ArtOfCode I'm no dev, but is it just me or is there a ton and ton of..... padding?

@ArtOfCode SOAP brings me nothing but bad memories
'Simple Object Access Protocol'
simple
@JourneymanGeek Most of it is attempting to structure the data with types

MORNING!

7:34 AM
@JourneymanGeek welcome to XML

7:51 AM
I think it is morning.

8:06 AM
@MetaAndrewT. Yeah... For a few hours already and I haven't gotten anything done except changed a reservation at the cinema tonight :/

Ooh, a movie night?

@MetaAndrewT. Yep. My parents planned on dragging me along as my youngest brother is giving a party at the house (so they booked three tickets), but now my oldest brother wants to come as well so I had to book two extra tickets, and tonight we need to have 1 cancelled and it just took so long to figure that out :P
At least now we can sit in pairs of two, next to each other.

Oof, so complicated.. but at least everything's going well.. (I hope!)

I think so...
I guess we'll see tonight. Usually, the staff at the movie theater is a great help when things do go wrong, to the point that everything goes right again ;)

Yup! :D

8:14 AM
A few weeks back something went wrong with a reservation a friend made, she made the reservation, got the paypal 'you paid' e-mail, but never the tickets QR code in her e-mail. Of course she only figured that out when we were having dinner... so we just went to the theater, they figured out the system somehow cancelled the reservation 3 minutes after it was made, put us on 'emergency seats' (which btw are somewhere in the middle of the theater, in a great spot)...
and we got free popcorn and softdrinks
So if they can handle that, I'm sure they can handle us cancelling a ticket :P

Wow, they did have a great service

8:46 AM
@MetaAndrewT. Yep, that was awesome.

@Rob Don Box has apologized for calling it simple.

@JourneymanGeek Yeah, I know... Twitter oneboxing is still broken. It's getting annoying ;)

That tooooooo

tl;dr: thank you for your HTTP 500

Random, entirely disconnected thought: Having a 3D printer and being a DM is dangerous.
Add an artsy wife, and we no longer need a battlemap. At the cost of a few spools of filament.

3:28 PM
@fbueckert lol

On the plus side, it's so much easier to make dungeon maps now.
Various preset tile sizes with magnetized bases make building an encounter so much faster.
We just finished printing (and painting!) doors.

1 hour later…
4:55 PM
@fbueckert I just read that last sentence, and since you're renovating the basement as well my mind went in a 'how do you print doors' and 'why would you do that' direction.

5:11 PM
@Tinkeringbell Hah. Would make renos easier, for sure.
But we'll go with tried and true building materials.

Heh. Also, if you do decide to print stuff, pick the correct colour immediately ;)

Could, but you generally don't get Dank Creepy Dungeon as an available choice when selecting filament. :P

I bet if you'd used bright pink it would've freaked out your players just as much :P

Hah.
Speaking of bright pink, I had a challenge with my buddy; he wanted me to paint a kit hot pink.
My response? "After you."

Nothing wrong with hot pink!
He'll show you ;)

5:26 PM
He did.
Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures, but I now have a hot pink Ball.

Nice! I think I'll make a version of my crochet parrot this weekend that's pink too... and I have some variegated pink/purple yarn, I think I'll turn that into another squid.

This weekend is likely going to be pretty slow for us. Might go get the framing materials for the first bit of the basement renos. Or get 'em delivered.

Mine is going to be extra long, I have a day off on Monday too... Not so slow though... tomorrow I have to visit grandparents and one of mom's patients that has a borked tablet, and then in the evening we're going out for family dinner...
Sunday will likely be slow..
Monday we're trying to get everyone together and go to the zoo

Dandelions have taken over my front yard, so I'm going to attempt to show them who's boss.
Also, solar panels are going up, so I'm hoping that wraps up today.
But I don't think the company I hired to do it is managed competently enough for that to actually happen.

5:57 PM
@fbueckert Oooh, dandelions :D You'll never get rid of those :P
@fbueckert I had a dude at the door today 'Yeah, uh... I'm here to deliver some tiles?'... I was like.. what for?
We didn't order any tiles..
Turns out, my parents are renovating the toilet. And the tiles were supposed to be delivered last week so work could start this week.
I see a tiny communications problem, and a lot of incompetence...

6:18 PM
@Tinkeringbell Mine's an ongoing issue with this company.
I originally signed the contract in April. 2018.
The quote said the installation would be in June of that year.
So I've been busy tearing their head off whenever I get, "Sorry, we're so busy, we can't do yours yet!"

1 hour later…
7:46 PM
@Tinkeringbell sounds like no weekend at all

1 hour later…
9:11 PM
@Tinkeringbell Do you crochet? (Seems apparently so.) I've been a knitter for years, but for six months have focused on crocheting! (Both have a mathematical aspect to them!)

9:38 PM
Sorry if I interrupted any flow of comments here.

10:23 PM
eh, looks like its been mostly smokey

10:43 PM
Honestly surprised by the comments here and how unfriendly they are to a new user simply figuring out how to use the system.
In other news: ready to start a new job in Miami!

My faith in the competency (or lack thereof) in my solar company is amply justified, it seems
@SonictheBracketedHedgehog They're certainly blunt and to the point. I'm going to have a hard time saying they're unfriendly, though.

11:01 PM
@fbueckert Some of them have been deleted after I flagged them, in the intervening time. At the time I posted that, there was one comment that literally responded to a question about where site scopes are documented with "go find it".
You can't reasonably expect a new user to know everything about how a site operates, and I feel in general that experienced users should take that into account.
Case in point: I've done quite a bit of teaching, and I learned it through there.
I really hate when I am the only person to extend an olive branch in case someone genuinely needs help.
