Anyway, I figured the FAQ could use a little revising given the user's persistent questions. Also, it uses a very accusatory tone, which I want to fix.

So I asked the above question to determine SE's preferred way of handling edit requests to that.

This is actually quite concerning:

There is no doubt we've stopped making changes for core users and your observations about how that's gotten worse ring true to me. And we've certainly seen negative feedback on meta (downvotes being the most trivial). The result may not be what you hope for, however. Often (and more often recently) I've heard colleagues dismiss meta feedback. Nobody wants to listen to relentless negativity. Hence this meta post written in the dead of night so I can finally sleep. In fact, this is the streisand effect. "We won't listen to uncivil feedback" is more likely to provoke a "Uncivil? I'll show you uncivil" type of response

Let me summarize. What people often mistakenly believe is that being more "welcoming" would involve having to lighten up the site's scope. My suggestion to those people is, carefully read up April's original Medium post on the topic (again if you've already read it). All that needs to be done is to change our tone and attitude. We can keep our existing scope and still have a very welcoming site.

Finally, the MSE post often cited by users to remove "thanks" doesn't specifically state that it should be removed. The question is neutral, and the top four answers refer to greetings and signatures only. The top fifth answer says they shouldn't be removed.

The small print makes it clear that the diet is composed by someone calling themselves a 'food consultant' (which I am too, btw!), not a real dietician (since that's a protected title). Also, you never get any updates, so you'd be eating the same every year.

Pro-tip: don't twist the pencil with your fingers. Grab it with both hands and use centrifugal force to spin up the cassette to much higher speeds than your fingers could achieve.

It doesn't work for tape pulled out from the cassette, but it works like a charm for rewinding it.
