I also just reached a flag weight of 750 today. I am not so sure the claim that the formula is asymptotic is accurate. I played around and deduced the formula to be:
f(n+1) = f(n) + (usual score) * (10-(f(n)-500)*0.008)
Starting with f(n) = 749, the following few flag weights will be:
