@Telkitty just in case you are serious (who knows! ;)) then... no. It only applies to official moderator messages which are sent to the user's inbox and email. (and can be replied to via special form, I think)

Heh. That does sound pretty awesome.

@PeterDavidCarter I heard that once there was a little predator by the name of Even Carrot or something like that, who went on to hit on some (ex) exployee, then the two hit it off & the employee quit his job. The two went on to live happily ever after (in their separate places) ... But the story is something between a mythology & a fairytale ...

@PeterDavidCarter No, there are people that watch the watchmen.
Look.
Just learn from the mistake, and move on.

user202362
@ShadowWizard I am as serious as my previous message :p 😹

@TIPS problem with @Peter is, that he can't learn from the mistake, judging from what he shared so far, as it's not a mistake just the way he is.

9:02 AM
How do you mean @ShadowWizard?

user202362
Mythologies & fairy tales all started as rumours?

@ShadowWizard There is obviously a mistake: Writing something that could be interpreted as bad in a medium where no intonations are heard.
@Telkitty no

@TIPS yeah, my point is that as far as I can see and read between the lines of what he shared so far, that is simply how he behaves, not something he can change. Again, it's not my place to judge, just saying what I'm seeing. /cc @Peter

@Telkitty you know, I have a problem with the shirt. It's black, and here in Israel we have a really strong sun. So in like 99% of the times I can't really wear it if going outside, it's like wearing an oven.

@ShadowWizard There are no "permanent" bans, just suspensions of various lengths and deletion.
Of course, you can be re-suspended upon the termination of your current suspension, which in some cases happens.
protip: don't piss off MO mods

Speaking of suspensions... why is it that review suspensions are cyclic? 2 days, 7 days, 30 days.... 2 days again?

@S.L.Barth are they... or was there a sufficient time between the 30 and the 2 that it just reset?

@canon I think it's documented.
50
Q: Review bans should escalate beyond 30 days

Brad LarsonCurrently, as reviewers fail audits, they are banned from review for increasing durations (2 days, then 7, then 30). At present, this caps out at 30 days. The next time a reviewer is banned, the ban duration drops down to 2 days. Even moderators cannot hand out review bans of longer than 30 days....

There's usually some good thinking behind SO policies. But I can't see what the rationale is here.

6:14 PM
@Haney I'm going create frame-based console which utilizes messaging so you can leave things sandboxed and still separate the console DOM from the results. You don't ever have to use it but it will be available to you.
I'll have a look at how you're creating the snippet frame and provide new code for that as well.
Make it as drop-in friendly as possible.
While I'm in there I'll probably knock out a ui for console options.
and backing for them
Again, all things you can just ignore until you feel like it would be worth it to implement them.

6:32 PM
wow, that first sentence suffered horribly from rewrite mangling...

6:43 PM
Ok, doing my research for an MSE question, I'm starting to understand more about the length of review suspensions.
It seems they're not really circular. If the reviewer doesn't trip an audit for long enough, the length drops back to the starting value.
I'd need to research a little more, but apparently failing an audit shortly after a 30 day suspension will get you suspended for 30 days again.
But as some of the questions illustrate, there are robo-reviewers who are not sufficiently deterred by this.

7:06 PM
@S.L.Barth Oh? Thought it goes back to 2 days.
There was a post from Brad I think that objected to this.

@TIPS As I understand it, it goes back to 2 days... if the robot doesn't fail an audit for long enough.

Q: Make Stack Exchange more friendly to first-timers

ArtOfCodeI come from lands afar, also known as Hardware Recommendations Stack Exchange. Over there, we have a serious problem with first-time Stack Exchange users coming along and asking off-topic questions - to the extent that 50% of incoming questions are closed. We've had a few attempts at solving this...

Actually kinda goes along with my mini-rant yesterday.

Oh, I missed your rant?

@Quill It's not surprising. You get a bunch of people who don't feel like reading the help center (surprise! people don't like to read???) and then you get a bunch of semi-grumpy users who either downvote without leaving a comment or leave a comment but don't solve the problem (which people hate). That's not to say that it's all SO's fault, but there are definitely ways the first time asking process could be improved.
Yeah, maybe my rants aren't... ranty... enough.

Academic grading in the United States commonly takes on the form of five letter grades. Traditionally, the grades are A, B, C, D and F — A being the highest and F, denoting failure, the lowest. Numeric to letter grade conversions generally vary system and academic discipline. Grade point average ranges standardized test scores and other native systems of measuring academic excellence can be used. A corresponds to "mastery" or "excellence", B to "good", a C is "acceptable" or "average", a D is "poor", and an F is "unacceptable" or "failing". == Numerical and Letter grades == The typical gr...

A: How to diplomatically inform a moderator you disagree with aspects of their decision

AndyAt this point, the user can not reply until the moderators reply back. Users are given one chance to respond to a message and this user appears to have done so. I was also unable to find evidence of the user suggesting any continuation of the behaviour Unless you are the user, and you don't...

But mostly, I recommend finding something less painful to do.
