What's with everyone all of a sudden wanting a special "moderation" rep for moderation privileges?

Guess what: the system isn't designed for someone to just moderate a site. Subject experts are needed to answer & ask questions.

The whole point is to push you to ask and answer. And my belief is that those people who solely focus on moderation for a time start to lose touch with the system...

@rene tl;dr: we shouldn't establish special ways to get moderation privileges. The problem isn't not enough users have privileges, it's the privileges themselves.

Maybe I should write up an answer to that. But it would probably be just as incoherent...
