Btw, I already checked, It doesn't seem related to checking the user reputation - so either they again punched me in the face and it is awarded for going over 9k rep - impossible on most low-traffic sites, or for views over 9k (another suggestion I made back then) - or the "cast a vote that makes an user reach 9k rep" suggestion some other made.

Either way, I want a "Weaver of Hats" hat now ;_;

@Derpy I pushed a couple of users over 9K rep and nothing happened, but they don't seem to have hats enabled, so it doesn't proof anything. I checked all SO users between 8991 and 8999 rep and none had hats enabled.

I had an interesting problem with hats loading oddly this afternoon: When I changed the hats on a separate tab, the hats loaded in, but never left, which was awkward for all of us. I was running Safari 9.0.2 (11601.3.9) on Mac OS X El Capitan with no add ons when the bug occurred.
